  1. Thanks for taking the time to comment guys! I am going to be starting on a replica of George Barris's Asteroid 63 Corvette. I am thinking however after going through my stash and only having the AMT 63, the Revell snap kit and the Revell 67, I may just use the 67; The body is close enough, the gills on the side of the front fenders and the window splitter will be cut away and thats the main distinguishing factor
  2. Has anyone built any of the offered 63 Vette coupe kits? which is the best? I have the newest release of the AMT, however its got a molded one piece interior with seats molded in. Is the MPC version better? if anyone has build any and could give a quick review would be much appreciated.
  3. ^ I see 2015 Mustang..... that roofline and side glass, the whole overall shape of it.
  4. Not even close to finished, however here is my Supercharged Hemi for my Bad Apple Kandy Challenger build, also the ACR hood.
  5. Just received my interiors and the only thing im not happy about is that there isnt more money in the budget to order more right now! Super cool interiors, I cannot wait to build with them.
  6. ive got over 100 hoods, and random parts and a pile of bodies, all great quality and shipped fast, had an issue with warpage and they took care of me.
  7. love it, Ive always liked the gold/brown oddball colors on muscle cars, paint is great as per usual. What clear are you shooting?
  8. Very sorry to hear this, We just spoke a week ago and he was going to start on some decals for projects I have in mind.
  9. I rarely finish anything and start new projects all the time, Ive got basically everything on hand with about 2500+ kits so if I see a car I like, or get an idea/inspiration I pull it out and do a bit,and then write a list of what else I want to do and put it in the box and shelf it until I want to come back to it. I also keep a notebook with me most of the time, at work etc, and if I get an idea I write it down.
  10. Thanks for the comments. Here are a couple of pics taken with my Camera instead of phone. Also some pics of the heart of the beast. I painted the block and heads in billet silver, and started detailing; Also a pic of the Tremec T56 6spd. I will be using Scale Productions Foose Nitrous II wheels for this build, which were painted an anthracite metallic w/ machined barrels. I also included a pic of my building partner my Rescue Pit, Rita DeVille. She always curls up at my feet while I build.
  11. I was looking at pics online last night and thought the same thing. I will be ordering from Ken instead.
  12. the next one I do is going to be this new resin body, with the supercharged 6.4 and the other Ram air hood that Clearly Scale offers, probably in Plum Crazy
  13. To tell you the truth, ive got 10 of their engine kits/ transmissions, and 4 of the challenger hoods and I can honestly say ive never worked with resin aftermarket engines this clean, fit is perfect right out of the bag. Im thinking I may go with aluminum/billet for the block/heads and satin black on the charger.
  14. You just tell me when they are ready and ill put another order in, haha I cant get enough of your stuff, its just so clean! Its a really deep green, Ill try and capture it outside tomorrow with a good camera, I used the magnesium pearl as a base, and shot the spaz stix Kandy Apple green right over top. It layed down really nice. The hood is just dupli-color flat black at the moment, I was going to paint it green also, but I think im gonna just leave it black for that oldschool look.
  15. how does one go about ordering from them? they have other things that I want, but I don't see a website anywhere.
  16. Anyone know of a source for a Buick straight eight engine? I've searched eBay and found one by googling it, however the company is defunct. Really want to find one for a project I thought up. Any help is much appreciated
  17. 'Hey Brotha man, I see you driving this 59 cadillac , these are very nice and sought after...... wanna sell it?" " sure Id take 25,000" " Ok Brotha man, ill give you 7,000" guy is a douche canoe, If he approached me on the street i throat punch the guy. None of these TV shows are remotely about the cars its all drama BS about hacks that cant build cars.... GMG are supposed to be " master mechanics" yet they order crate engines and have other people do their work, everything is outsourced. These guys get a car that is Decent and it has a couple of rust holes and some floor rot " OMG this is SO rough we need to find something nicer....." .... or just fix it, As a person that builds my own 1:1 stuff and only outsources things I cant do, its painful trying to watch these car shows. Im currently building a 63 Nova 2dr hardtop, that is firewall back, just a shell, was no glass, no interior , no wiring, most of these made for tv "car builders" woudlnt even look at the thing, but hey, Ive got all new sheetmetal and all new glass, everything new.
  18. Well Ive wanted to do another Modern Muscle car for a while, and Clearly scale is determined to take all of my money, so using their parts ( 6.4 Hemi supercharged, and ACR hood) I am going to build one. I was going to use scale finishes snakeskin green, but I decided to try out SPaz Stix Kandy apple green, sprayed over Dupli-color Dodge magnesium pearl, and I really like how it turned out.( no clear yet) I plan to use Scale Productions Foose Nitrous II wheels also, but with a wider rear than they provide.
  19. Morgan Automotive Detail ( Kris Morgan) does a 79 I believe.....
  20. Its all good lol, its 2wd now, shaved the shifter off the column and put it on the floor. Quick Build completed and in under glass section now.
  21. Im calling this one done. I just need to mask and spray the front black bumper trim in metallic grey to match the sides. Its just a quick curbside build for the local club meeting tomoro night. The theme is "One of a kind" so I figured a "what it" Yenko would fit the bill. I used Firebird Designs Alps printed decals.... they fought me the whole way, bled through, brittle, etc. etc. Wheels are Pegasus 23" hellas misted with multiple colors of grey, silver, charcoal etc for a magnesium look. Ride height was lowered all around about 4" in the front and 3-4" in the back. Color is Metalcast Transparent red over Duplicolor Ford Charcoal Metallic.
  22. they are modern versions of " Elbows" "84s" "Swangas" "super pokes" if you google it its big with the Slab guys, mostly a southern states thing. Some older, 80s cadillacs look really good with em.
  23. I got a bit more done, Side trim painted, Yenko decals added to the sideplates in the trim. Final clear coat. Interior is all done and ride height has been set.
  24. Love the ride height and the wheels ( check the custom 49-54 page on facebook) youll see allot that low. just wondering where you got the chrome wheels?
  25. The local club that I meet with has a theme night for December of "One of a kind" ( customs, prototypes, phantoms etc) I have been wanting to do a newer Yenko truck for a while so I decided on this Tahoe. I sprayed it Duplicolor Charcoal grey metallic ( ford color) and then Metalcast Transparent Red over top. Decals are Firebird Designs Alps printed ( not the greatest quality) Decals were an issue, very brittle and not thick enough in some areas, causing "bleed through" from the paint. I am using 23" Pegasus Hellas, which I dull coated and misted with a couple different metallic greys to give them that Magnesium cast look. For the interior I added a few little things such as a 4 speed shifter and tach. I am just building this as a curbside to have something for the meeting theme, later on I will revisit the idea with a full detail, probably sporting a clearly scale carbed LSX resin engine
