I did the flooring in my Hobby Room a couple of days ago , and built some work benches today. I still need to notch the shelf for the right bench, and put it in, then hang up a couple more sheets of peg board, but overall im pretty happy with how they came out.

Its an excellent kit! In your question about HOK paint, the Pink body I posted is from this kit. I have built 5 of them so far and have 10 more on the shelf, so that says allot about it. It builds up really nice, no fitment issues with any that I have done. Only real issue ive ever had is " ghosting" from molding "swirls" in the plastic on the passengers side and roof, show through when using hotter paint ( like automotive laquer, and HOK that I have thinned myself) just make sure you primer it first and you should be good.

Tamiya X-15 lime green paint, too thin?
mademan replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
try Mr. Surfacer white primer, or Tamiya white primer. -
I use these pre-thinned bottles all the time for my models..... never had issues, Ive got some that ive had for 3-4 years and its still fine. Shake it up and spray. Ive used as small as a .3 paasche, and up to a .7 hvlp touch up gun. Ive used the shimrin bases, kandy, and kandy concentrates, generally use Plasti-kote 235 ( I believe it is) grey or white primer, and Duplont Chroma-clear over it. I also agree with these guys ALWAYS wear a mask. this one is Lime gold Kandy, over Limetime pearl Base, over white plastikote primer, and Dupont chroma-clear over Pink Kandy Concentrate over Fine Orion Silver

I had looked at Pace booths before but shipping to Canada was incredible.... ill go have a look again. upon further research..... with shipping and exchange a Pace Peace keeper would set me just over $1000.00. And the Mini-plus doesn't appear to be big enough. I guess Ill hold off for now. Don't really "need" one.

Ive been looking lately at Paint booths, Ive come across a few , the most common one seems to be the white plastic case type that folds out. I may pick one up for the heck of I, just for quick jobs, but I am looking for something like a paasche one. Ive found one in the price point that I like.... however it says : `` Not intended for use with hazardous materials, flammable or explosive paints or materials`` ..... now I know of a few people usung these booths..... and I was wondering if anyone has had any issues? or can I change the fan out so that I don't blow it up? I sptay mostly HOK and automotive paints and 2k clears. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Paasche-HSSB-22-16-Hobby-Spray-Booth-22-Wide-by-18-High-plus-4-Filters/271833977545?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D30157%26meid%3Dee31786837e34a2e8fec5bc24bed537c%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D370576890460&rt=nc Any input or suggestions are welcomed. Id like to stay around / under the $200 USD mark.

Another Saskatchewaner! Yours were on the table right behind mine. ( black alfa, red Camaro and 2 caddys) very nice builds.

Coming along great. I am working on the New Revell 67, and had some Marina Blue mixed up for it...... only because the paint shop didn't have a code for Madeira maroon
-
Youll have to let me know how that one goes. The way my Schedual works ill most likely miss Draggins next year, but will hopefully be able to catch Majestics.

Pictures do not do these build justice, Very clean work. The 67 Camaro and Fox are my Favs..... and Congrats on the wins

Thanks guys, It was actually a really fun build, I haven't completed anything in a while so It feels great to have on to put n the case. I added some tail lights last night after the pics were taken.

I very rarely have time to build lol, but I work away for 14 days and home for 14 days. Im in the middle of moving , but it was nice to just come and go all day and do a relaxing build. I mabey have 4-5 hours into it total throughout the day, waiting for paint to dry etc.

Getting a few models shined up for a local contest this weekend, and seen that the Theme for one of the Classes is "Work Place/ Weathered" so I figured for fun I might aswell toss together a quick theme build. I started at 1:00pm today, and I just finished it at 4am. Blown Hemi w/ six deuces, all greasy/ rusty and weathered, I threw a Fat Kidd re-wired distributer on it, and weathered everything out. Jimmy Flintstone chopped resin body and my first time using Dr. Krankys salt technique....... didn't come out half bad! Windshield fell inside after I put it all together, but Hey! its a hot rod so it doesn't need a windshield. To cover myself for the workplace theme part, I tossed a Rod Shop decal on the back so workplace and weathered are covered. PS its NOT a rat rod...... its just and Ugly hot rod, lol

used t be RDSXFAN (redsoxfan) I bought around 100 resin hoods from him...... never an issue then all of a sudden he started to get horrible feedback and guys were having problems.... name change.... same thing, then change again, then disappeared. a year later new account started and selling the same items ( very nice resin) claiming that her husband had left and she was selling the remainder of his stock.... I haven't bought from them since.

resin a pillar gauge pods
mademan replied to rob0258's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
ScaleDreams used to sell a resin 3 Pod Pillar...... but Rick is no longer selling as far as I know. A pretty generic piece that you could just file down to the contour of your pillar and glue into place. I don't have any extra to offer, but mabey you can find someone who has some. -
AWESOME work! Ive been silently following, and patiently waiting to see the final product. Cant wait to see it all together, you've really done a great job.
