  1. If it makes the task easier, buy it. But I'd check harbor freight, menards, or ebay first. Micromark is very overpriced. PS...My lawn mower utilizes a gas engine versus the old no-engine type. Does that make me lazy? :-(
  2. Just FYI, it tends to dry a little hazy sometimes but nothing some polishing doesnt cure. I have price shopped the stuff and it seems to be the same price everywhere. Walmart might be a dollar cheaper.
  3. Just pour and shoot. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Dupli-Color-32-oz-clear-coat-Paint-Shop-finish-system/_/N-25gw?itemIdentifier=898489_0_0_
  4. Any auto store sells Dupli Color. They have a small quart can with lid of lacquer clear...25 bucks....will last a very long time...you could probqbly clear 50 cars if not more. I even use it over acrylics just fine...be sure to do many light mist coats.
  5. You beat me to it Charlie.
  6. What is rule 6 boss?
  7. Saw one at a shop yesterday and looks nice.
  8. And here's a link to learn everything you might want to know. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/forum.php
  9. I have the Sherline lathe and mill. They are without a doubt the nicest pieces of miniature machinery you can buy. Although expensive, the quality is absolute precision. Your next option is Taig which is not nearly as expensive and is quality equipment. I've never heard anything bad about Taig, and most Taig and Sheline accessories are interchangeable. Taig accessories are less expensive also. Either option is perfect for model hobby projects. I also have a Harbor Freight smaller Milling machine....bad quality...i would steer clear. Lastly, there is Micromark. It is the same makes and models as the Asian made Harbor Freights but they fine tune their models and appear be a little better quality than HF. I say if u have the money, go with Sheline. Top notch stuff.
  10. Very cool! Very cool!
  11. Excellent details! What kit is this?
  12. Also, put the can in a glass.of.warm water....results in paint flowing smoother.
  13. 400 and 600 grit sand paper sound waaaay to course. I start with 1000 and barely use any pressure. I end at 12000 grit.
  14. Stunning build my friend! Any close ups of the interior and engine?
  15. Just use a filter and be done. Happy wife happy life.
  16. Is this enamel or lacquer? Sounds like you are putting too much paint on at once. Too much paint doesn't allow the canned paint to air out, causing bubbles. Try light mist coats with enamel. One light mist coat, let it dry for 15 mins, repeat, repeat, repeat. Testors enamel spray is not the easiest to work with and it takes days to dry. Their one coat lacquer is much easier to use. Takes only one or two medium coats and is dry within a day. If you were to upgrade to an airbrush, a whole new world awaits you.
  17. That, my friend, is bad ace.
  18. Tsrf, slot.it, Plafit, NSR, answer Scholer are all top notch chassis. Slot.it is the most reasonably priced high performance chassis, Plafit and scholer higher priced but sweet chassis.
  19. If the glue on the windshield is bothering you, take some 1000 grit sand paper and sand it away. Then use a cotton ball or qtip with Sctatch-X...aafter about 5 minutes of polishing you will never know the glue was there.
  20. Interesting choice of teams. Myself, I will never support anything Mike Brown owns. Cool bike though.
  21. He might possibly be at the IMPS show coming up in Cincinnati. I saw him at a model show not too long ago in Cinti and he had a TON of stuff at really reasonable prices. I asked him why he doesn't sell online or on ebay, and said he just didn't feel like fiddling with it. If I see him again, maybe I'll propose selling his stuff for him on eBay or something. He has a lot of product ready to buy, but doesn't market it at all. And I believe I live close to him.
  22. I have driven the police version, and it is nothing short of a race car. Dare I say one of the nicest, tightest, best handling cars I've ever driven. And horrendously fast.
  23. I use Testors enamel clear in the glass jar. I thin it with lacquer thinner, and airbrusher light mist coats until glossy. This works on acrylic, enamel, and lacquer. I do the same with Testors lacquer clear in the glass jar....thin it...mist coats. Works on acrylic.
