  1. I'm paying for my cockiness last year.. you are MUCH farther ahead of me. And I'm pretty sure you made more stuff from scratch too. Ha!
  2. Hey progress was made! Which is good since I have something like 17 days to get this done... assembled the 29 front and whipped up a leaf spring Then got to work on the interior.. lotta time in that silly floor there..
  3. Looking good! Dare I say... minty fresh?
  4. It's been nice.. paint time?
  5. well the paint showed up.. now I have to finish! GM Verdoro green from Gravity Colors.
  6. Well these are both interesting for sure, can't wait to see more. Very clean and tidy fabrication going on here..
  7. links made and mounted. Now I have to figure out coil overs...
  8. thanks again for the kind words. I almost don't want to admit the amount of time I have spent on this rear end. I have had this center section in the parts box for a while now and decided it was time to use it. It was rough to start so that didn't help things but I can say I am happy with it now. There is a 1/8th inch aluminum tube in there, some styrene tube tapered and blended to that and some link mounts cut and layered from .015 sheet. I'll have to decide what to do about the rear cover, part of me wishes I knew where this came from so I could source it. It was all chrome to start so I kind of think its from one of those parts packs maybe? Either way I am moving forward.. A little over a month left!
  9. I hope that's not true! Ha
  10. I didn't get a lot done last night, but I did manage to save the rear axle and add a taper to the tubes while I was at it (still needs some cleanup) and got some primer on my grille to see how that was doing after the splice.
  11. fantastic build!! so much work goes into making it look like you didn't do anything at all. love the colors too.
  12. It was fighting me last night but hopefully I'll have better luck tonight
  13. Had to remake that rear part again. It wasn't strong enough before.
  14. drill the hole the same size as the aluminum rod in there. Holds pretty tight.
  15. this is off the charts cool, I love it! very tasteful and well executed, two things that are hard to pull off.
  16. for a bunch of parts you have laying around, this sure looks like a nice little rod!
  17. good start! I really like that inspiration rod too... I should save those pictures.
  18. Parts box quick change, aluminum rod and dome drilled out aluminum tube later and I have a rear end. I'll have to figure out a rear cover for it but I'm moving forward. Now it fits where it was supposed to
  19. So I ran out of luck with my eyeball engineering. didn't leave enough room for the rear diff, so that awesome rear cross member I made? Yep had to go... oh well this should do. Although now that I look at it I think I could have done something else. I need to get moving though or I'm never going to finish. I also notched the frame and bedsides while I was at it.
  20. Epic as usual my good friend
  21. you are getting us mixed up again.. lol
  22. not yet, I've been slightly distracted by other projects but I'll be back to this soon
  23. that looks great! almost like it was meant to be. You made that looks easy.. and I know it was not!
  24. All joking aside, it is a really inspiring build. Seeing it in person it gets harder and harder to wrap your head around. Keep going and finish this one
  25. try being his friend! Haha
