  1. Marsh Models 1/43rd kit. Tamiya paint, pretty much OOB, except for adding the windows that did not come in the kit. WIP thread: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=47178
  2. The kit did not come with windows, not that it mattered too much, the kit was supposed to only supply sheet clear plastic. I made a template for the windshield and rear window, the side door windows were made from measurements. Like the real car (unfortunately) they mount from the outside. I made decals to clean up the edges were they mounted to the body. They did provide vac-u-formed headlight covers… Still more details to add, but I think it is near the final stretch of assembly.
  3. How does the intake work? I see the washer-like things on the bottom of the hood that appear to line up with the intakes mounted to the engine, but where can it draw air in when the hood is closed? I don't see any intake holes on the top of the hood or ducting on the underside to the little center scoop on the nose. Looks like it would be choked to death. Nice to see you moved the "license plate" up and out of the way of the exhaust. Since you fixed the plate, maybe you could center the front air dam too, not sure if you noticed, but it is quite a bit off center and it detracts from the overall flashy job. Nice red!
  4. Dave, Do you have anything to match up with that truck behind the Corvette?
  5. The plate doesn't look like it is covering the exhaust in Mike's drawing to me... (See rear view in drawing above.) So what was corrected realistically?
  6. What is the reason for using the gold under the blue?
  7. I found this "kit" at Target... Now it is done: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47374
  8. Generally Orange with custom made decals including correct Georgia “Hazzard County” plate. WIP: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=47326
  9. Nice job! I found the Marsh Models Audi's to be even more enjoyable to build...
  10. I made a set of decals and used BMF for the chrome. Even made a Hazzard County Georgia plate with the correct characters... The body is general-ly done except for the clear coat. I also added the correct 3 speed wiper motor...
  11. Fluorescent Green over a gold base with Scale-Master/Warbirds decals.
  12. The hood had a big hole where a hokey blower stuck out. I filled it with Evercoat. The A-Pillars were also broken, the right side at the roof, the left side at the fender. I used CA to fix that. Here it is in rattle can economy base primer after the repairs... White primer base (Tamiya paint) before the orange... I painted it Generally Orange... (Tamiya again) And included some temporary orange peel too... Note that the doors do not open just like the real one.
  13. If you haven't put the headers on you might want to re-route the spark plug wires. While running them under manifolds is common, they'd cook under headers. I'm curious why you are concerned with changing the master cylinder to a more accurate unit, (although the power booster looks a litte anemic on the one on the right), but don't seem to care about running the more visible ignition wires correctly? Seems if you are upgrading some parts you'd want the rest to be accurate too. Maybe I'm missing something. It's not like it costs more to do it correctly...
  14. That is the same LeMans version I am am making. It's last run. It also ran earlier at Sebring and Targa Florio with different numbers and sponsors. Sadly the real car suffered a rear tire flat from the debris of a wreck that the driver skilfully avoided. Unfortunately the puncture occured just past the pits and the driver attempted to limp the car around the entire circuit trying to get back to the pits. Once the tire disintegrated the magnesium wheel started a fire that engulfed the rear of car. As fire moved forward into the cockpit it became clear he was not going to make it back to the pits. The driver had to jump from the moving vehicle to avoid being burned. It did not make it back to the pits and burned trackside. The model will be of the way it started the race, not the way it finished... PS, the seatbelts are the wrong color on that die-cast...
  15. Not Guido. Are you kidding? After the last time? I hired Roberto again.
  16. Wheels Choice 2 is the ONLY choice...
  17. Try it Mr. Taylor. The official CFAC bouncer is the owner...
  18. Too late Romell, the owner of this one was inspecting it last night...
  19. The clear is on and some detail painting has been done…
  20. The body is resin (with a few PE detail parts) and needed some clean-up. The vent slots needed the most attention, and the front splitter was C shaped so I cut it out and replaced it with a stainless steel piece I made up. Tamiya Italian Red was applied, as well as the decals…
  21. Seat is done. Real car’s upholstery is not leather but vinyl…
  22. That's a Testarossa.... Except for the regular cars, looks like a regular day on the road here...
  23. Here's one you might like Virgil: I have a model of it in progress...
  24. But it doesn't have a BB "Rat" motor, it has a SB "Mouse" motor...
  25. I'm with you on that! It looks clean in that photo, but the styling does nothing for me. Almost like it is trying to be too many different styles mashed together.
