  1. OK. Just picked up the AMT Baldwin Motion Camaro. Having had the "Old" Z-28 version. years ago, I knew this one was a new tooling. I got it for the "parts" to do another kit...tires, wheels, engine, etc. Upon opening it, I was pleasantly surprised. This one runs circles around the "old" kit. Question is...is the AMT 70 1/2 Z-28 that was last released ( Lime Green actual car box art ) the "old' molding, or, the current Baldwin Motion tool??? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hey, that doesn't look to bad at all. Your work, of course.
  3. Why bother? The '70 Chevelle was one of the ugliest Chevelles ever. The '68 and '71-72 styles were the Ultimate. However, if you want a '70...go for it!
  4. Yep, you nailed how that body style could have "The Look". Nice one Man
  5. Welcome!
  6. Just received my Fireball Modelworks tires, and white letter decals. WOW! The mainstream manufacturers have never put out a tire that "looked" the right width and diameter that I have in the pics of my 1/1 cars. Joseph has NAILED it! Ordered the Mickey Thompson N-50's in both 1/24 and 1/25 to compare. Lined them up on a '67 Impala (had one) and a '61 Impala (had three of these, 1/1) and they are perfect! Capture that '70's/'80's look just right. Be ordering 4 more sets next week. Will experiment with shaving the raised M/T letters off, and applying Fireballs white letter decals to reflect the tires I had (Cooper Cobra, etc) If you haven't tried these out...you are missing out.
  7. Kool!
  8. Good start. I got my first one of these kits in '69 or '70. "Bonnie and Clyde" version (although they were killed in a '34) with bullet hole decals. This should be interesting.
  9. My "beef" with the Lindberg '61 (also the '53 Ford) was spotty, thin chrome plating.
  10. Just surfing the website, and there is an AMT '61 Impala kit pictured. What gives?
  11. Is there any reliable sources for accurate sized tires that represent tires used on actual cars in the '70's? Say, 50 and 60 series? M-50's? N-50's? 60's ( Mickey Thompson) Seems that every Muscle Car kit today, has undersized tires. Thanks!
  12. Kool! It's refreshing to see such a nice Moper build...with a Wedge and not a Hemi.
  13. Awesome! The BMF alone would have cost me about 3 bottle of Jim Beam...
  14. Kool builds. I like the "Bugs".
  15. You nailed the look exactly!
  16. Kool models. I suggest a better camera.
  17. Awesome build. I've probably done 7 or 8 of these over the years. NEVER used the stock parts on the engine. You got it right.
  18. Depends on what i'm gluing... Most areas of unpainted styrene. plastic...engine, heads, trans, or anything that will be painted later, straight up Testors Liquid. Works just fine.PLUS you have a short time frame to position it right. If it's an area that needs a little more time to set in the position I need...Testors Liquid, 50%, with a mix of 50% Testors Tube stirred in, OR Super Glue/Krazy Glue Gel. Metal to styrene or metal to metal? SG or KG Gel. Painted parts, that need to be "scraped" at the attached point? Same Testors Liquid. If I want parts to be literally "welded" together...Tenax Z7. Mostly used on aircraft seams. Bad stuff. Lastly, clear parts? Aleenes "Tacky Glue". Holds the part . Dries clear. I can buy a years worth of all, for what some of the exotic glues cost in a month.
  19. I'm well into a build ( 3rd one attempted...none finished) and have ran into a small problem. The chassis/engine/interior are almost finished. However, when I do a mock up, everything lines up. The axle/spindles are centered in the wells, and the radiator support is in the correct place, however, the grill seems it will be a non-fit, as if the support is too far forward???
  20. Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought it read "El Camino"...
  21. BTW...there was no ...'57 Cameo... Just sayin'...
