  1. New, 1961. "Old" 2008.... One of the "shoulda' kept ones....
  2. Hmmm....My "Nothingburger" still tastes the same.....
  3. Looks good for what you had to work with. I've had 2 or 3 of this kit....and hated it....
  4. Sometime around 1970....'bout the same time I did the Tarantula.....
  5. 4 Years? Great perseverance, Man! Hang in there....I've got some started in the 20th Century....
  6. It's a Olds motor....
  7. Thanks for the comments. For once, I really enjoyed a build to the finish.
  8. Disagree. Imagination is one thing, actual eye/brain perception is another. There is a pronounced visual difference when looking at similar auto bodies. A Monogram 1/24 Chevelle is WAY bigger than the AMT, or Revell offering. Same goes for the Mopars.
  9. Yeah, I know...It's been beat to death. However, having built models since the early '60's, I was more particular to 1/25 scale. Compared to 1/24, it looked "just right. In conversations with many of my friends whom modeled, we were of the opinion that we would have bought MANY MORE MONOGRAMS had they been in 1/25. Don't get me wrong. I bought many of their kits because they were the "only game in town". But, as opposed to buying MANY of the same kits as I did/do in 1/25, usually ONE MONOGRAM kit was all I bought. I would have bought multiple copies had they been in 1/25. Kits include: '68 GTO, '66 Chevelle, "70 GSX, '40 Ford PU, '70 Trans Am, BOSS 429 Mustang...etc.
  10. You have obviously never dealt with Russian produced 1/72 aircraft kits....or instructions.....
  11. Thanks! The wood is "paint" from years of dry brushing aircraft models. It's all done with cheap Hobby Lobby craft paints.
  12. Lost a bunch of parts for this one...SO, used what I had from the spare parts bin....
  13. Just messin' around between airplane builds....
  14. Great save Man. I always love it when another one is found, instead of rotting away like so many before.
  15. Good God! Now I appreciate my 1/1 scale El Camino a WHOLE lot more!
  16. I have seen Pauls models. They are a work of art. What is crazy, is that the bid goes from the 366 mark, straight to 1300 dollars. Ebays system usually increases in increments. That is, it would show the next amount over $366. I have NEVER seen the amount jump this much without showing the bid history. Something is not right. Other Ebay guys I know have never seen this occur either.

  18. Spares box....a relaxing escape from reality...
  19. Nice job. This just reminded me of my early age in modeling. Mid '60's. I "murdered" quite a few 1/32 Palmer , PYRO, and Revell cars before I got it right. Your build has inspired me to drag out a Monogram GTO and do some work...
  20. Well, almost finished. Lost the vent windows, so I'll have to make some....posed slightly opened. Also lost the rear end/springs. Spare parts to the rescue. Was attempting an "old school" look. The body had been painted long ago, then I decided to "age" it some. Chassis and interior was built months ago. Actual aluminum tube front axle on ? leaf springs. Wheel/tire combo was a spare parts "given" given. Engine was a toss up since I had sold 30 years worth of spare parts on Ebay not long ago. Didn't count on building any more cars. Managed to put together enough for this one. Block/4 speed was from the kit. Heads from the AMT '55 Cameo. Blower/intake/magneto/ valve cover...unknown. Had no fender well headers but managed to cobble a respective set of between frame together. Induction went back and forth between Hilborn fuel injection or blown. Was to lazy to cut aluminum tube and plumb for Hilborn. Anyway, here it is. Next up is a '48 Ford, '53 Stude, or '41 Plymouth along the same lines....
