Finishing one now. Quick build, just to see how it goes together. Got plenty of ideas. Didn't change mutch. Rear shocks, tires, rims. De Chromed the valve covers, stacks. Flattened the headlites. Aluminated stacks with Testors metal. Added valve stems. Bought another one just for parts on future projects. I remember this kit from the '60's.

Sweet!

Originally had aimed at doing this simple build in under 4 nights, 3 hours per night, and finish a car. Now looking at another night to finish up. More time was spent "parts hunting" than I had figured on. Had to fight off that "add more " demon several times. Anyway, at this point now. Gotta finish the Caddy by adding the oil filler tube, magneto, wires, intake, etc. Still considering ditching the carbs for some better ones I have. Not really satisfied with the Crager SS but couldn't get steely's to look right and didn't want to burn a set of American 5 spokes. Cragers came out in '65, so I guess I could still "date" this one as being parked in '66-'67.

Very nice work!

Perfect...

Lookin' Good! A little info if I may...the early Caddy's used a siamesed center exhaust port for the center cylinders. The headers would look like a v-6.

Super Bee Is Finished & Is Under Glass

Started one of these when they first came out. Paint turned out bad and I lost interest. It became a "parts donor". After seeing yours, I might just get another one and have a second take. -

Lookin' good! -
I have to ponder "circumstances and situation" on this matter of a "loser". You gotta picture "rural Alabama"...'74-'78...my party years. 'Course, in those years I drove a 350, 4 speed '56 Chevy Hardtop. '68 Chevelle SS. '76 Formula 400, and a '72 Chevelle "Heavy Chevy". Most of my Pals drove similar. Had there been a rural, dirt road, party...and the only way I could have gotten there was a Monza (by the way, I bought a '77 "Spider body with big plans for it...Oh well...) or a Chevette...well, I would have been "hooted" , but then the party would have went on after awhile. BUT! Had I shown up in a "Fish Bowl"...Pacer...I would have NEVER lived it down. My vote? Pacer...hands down.

Haven't worked on the "Southern Fried '57 Ford much since the first post. Been bogged down with commitments of aircraft builds. Gotta' go where the cash is. Have some free time coming up to spend on the '57. Wanted to actually FINISH a car before jumping back in. Had this one laying around for 12-13 years that I have robbed parts out of. Wanted to do a quick build. 2-4 nites at the most. "Ex-Gasser" Got this much done most of yesterday and last nite. Spray bombed with the same '57 paint. (Only spray bomb color I have at the moment. I aint dragging the air brush out!)) Spray/brushed the chassis. Dropped in a raised front axle. Shimmed the rear springs some. Engine is the Revell Caddy. Brushed blue and lightly rusted. Gotta' do some more work on the intake/carbs. Little corrosion to add. Simple wiring/fuel lines/linkage/ etc. Tarnished Americans. Pie crust slicks. Hope to finish this one up by the weekend, then devote some time to "Southern fried. Happy Modeling!

Era. That's the factor. The year /years you want to depict. That determines the wheels. The first car I EVER paid for/bought...was a '60 Impala. $500 bucks. Bank note Co-signed by my Dad. 1975. White, with a black "rolled an' tucked" interior. 283 "Fow barrel". Musta' weighed 3 tons. Chrome reverse wheels. But that's 1975 era.
