Question for the Mopar crew
imatt88 replied to imatt88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've never seen the overhead console in kit form. Thats pretty slick. I started this post because I want to model a correct Cuda/Challenger. I've heard that most of the kits available have inaccuracies and I like to keep my cars fairly accurate. The The trim/engine packages are pretty confusing to keep track of and I'm working outside of my comfort zone I guess this comes from building military jets for years. Cheers, Ian -
Question for the Mopar crew
imatt88 replied to imatt88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Overhead info center...huh?. In a console? Any special engine package with hood? Cheers, Ian -
OK Mopars guys.. Being a GM kind of guy, and not knowing squat about Mopars.....I have a question What is the difference between the Challenger R/T, the T/A, and the S/E? I just spotted a Jimmy Flintstone resin Challenger S/E body on eBay, and I've never heard of one.. Is the S/E a base model or something? Any info will be appreciated Cheers, Ian

Chris, Thanks, great info. I need to learn this stuff as I know zilch about Mopars. I'm checking eBay for donar parts, but there isn't much for Cudas Cheers, Ian
-
Casey, Dude, if thats your Yankee Challenger, you want to trade for it? I was drooling over all the extra parts Cheers, Ian

Niko, When I looked at the Johan Cuda chassis, I realized that it ain't stock . Now I just have to find all the stock Cuda parts to rebuild it.. Casey, Could be, but did AMT make a Challenger ragtop? How can you tell its a ragtop interior? Revellogram made one, but in 24th scale Cheers, Ian

Thanks Doc. that is way cool, and looks so real

Smooooth paint! Great job

Yeah, I was guessing MPC also, but what car? Cuda, Challenger, GTX? It fits into that Cuda body pretty well......

Chris, Thanks for the info. It's clear I need help with Mopars. Can the Johan drag car be made factory stock? While we are on the subject..can anyone tell me what Mopar interior this belongs to? Also, the ragtop is missing part of the hood scoop, I could use one if anyone has a spare. Cheers, Ian

Hey all, With my other projects wrapping up, I picked up a couple of Mopar gluebombs to start the restoration process This is what I'm starting with, Monogram 1970 Cuda (?) And a Revellogram '70 ragtop(?) And this one I'm not sure about..It's a Cuda, but not sure what year or who made it. Its molded in white and it is a mess. Mopar guys, I could use some help identifying this one.. I'll post pics as I can, Cheers, Ian

And some more......... An MPC '27 Lincoln that I didn't originally list And the MPC '67 Bonneville ragtop Still a lot of finishing work to do, foiling, small parts engines, etc... Hope you guys like them... Cheers, Ian

Nice job, I especially like the "sleeper" look to the car. I would like to do a model like this. Cheers, Ian

Mike, Excellent job on the Cudas. I've recently added a couple of B body Mopars to my "rebuild" list, but I don't know one Cuda from another, so this thread will be very helpful to me. Being a GM guy, Mopars are way out of my comfort zone I would like to see a Cuda/Challenger history thread. It seems there were many versions of both cars, and from what I've read over the years, most model kits aren't accurate. Cheers, Ian

Mike, Killer job on the Ferrari! I love taking something ordinary and making it better, thats why I do rebuilds. I, too, have a small collection of 1/18th scale diecasts, and I've toyed with the idea of pulling them apart and reworking them. Unfortunately, I have way too many plastic projects going right now to worry about it. Maybe someday. I would love to see more of your work. Keep it up. Cheers, Ian

WOW, that paint job is amazing! Straight out of the can with no polishing?? All I can say is....wow

Do you have WIP thread? I would like to know how and where you made your cuts to graft the Escalade front end on the truck. I really like this idea, and might try it myself someday. Cheers, Ian -

Sweet!!! killer idea. A luxury Dually..what a concept! -
I haven't seen Capt America yet, but that Mercedes looking car is pretty sweet! Resin, anyone? Skip, I like that RAF Phantom IV pickup. That would be a different build, for sure I'd call it, as the British would say, Rolls Royce Phantom Mk. IV Cheers, Ian

I'm watching a can on eBay right now I'm guessing its for RC bodies, but I used it on my GP chrome bumpers and it turned out pretty good. Runs about $12 a can. I plan on buying more as soon as I can afford it. Cheers, Ian
