  1. I've read several articles where the providers are either running out of capacity and/or are trying to control heavy bandwidth users to keep their systems from bogging down during peak use hours. There is even some saying the internet is running out of bandwidth due to the proliferation of mobile devices capble of streaming video and on demand movies. So it's anyones guess.
  2. Simply Awwwwwesome
  3. Love the color and custom details. Great build.

    41 Willys

I've always loved the look of the Willys. Here is my version. Model is based on the Revell Manzmanian. Wheels, engine/intake/headers and interior details from the part box and M.A.D. The colors are Testor lacquer's, blazing orange and silver mist. The oranged darkened after the application of the clear coat. Enjoy...
  5. Ditto, I like the look of it.
  6. Yea I hated that kit too. It caused me so many problems during the build I finally lost it and threw it at the wall. Boy did I feel better then...
  7. Hi Sam, glad you found the site. It's a lot better than others I've been on. See you Saturday...Doug

  9. Beautiful restoration, feel like I'm back in the 60's.
  10. "the four beasts that ride on white, red, black, and pale horses which each symbolize Conquest, War, Famine, and Death, respectively" from Wikipedia
  11. I'd be interested in the slant 6. Currenty working on 2 71 duster projects, one with an 06 hemi and the other with a performance slant 6. I've got two engines to work from right now, a deora slant 6 and the hyper pack slant 6, not real happy with either and I like the detail on yours much better. I'm willing to postpone the one until you have them available. Please keep us advised.
  12. Instead of usning teflon tape, try using heat shrink tubing. You can get it in almost any size. The only limitation is how small of diameter tubing/sprue you can wrap with wire.
  13. Very nice build to end the year.
  14. While in the local Walmart Super Center yesterday looking at the different beading wire for my next projects I happened to turn around and found a section for children's beading. It was a great find, they had a package of 10 different colored spools of .28 gauge wire for 7.99 and 26 guage for 9.99. They also had several other larger gauge wire in different colors too. I won't have to buy wire again.
  15. Here is my latest kit I used to get motivated to build again. The wife has been having some medical issues and after spending all day at dr.'s offices and labs I found it hard to go home and build. I found an AMT Concept Camaro snap kit in my closet and decided to try and throw it together. Well it got the juices flowing again. I added a scoop, rear deck spoiler and wheels and rims for the parts box. I changed the stance slightly to give it a bit of a rake. I detailed the interior and added a scratch built roll bar. I smoothed down the rear roll pan and filled in the factory exhaust ports and added my own on the side using aluminum tubing for the tips. The paint is Model Masters laquer, purple over silver mist with many coats of clear. This was my first and complete wet sand and polish. I used a Detail Master's polishing kit and it worked great. I managed to get some super glue on the roof after I got it assembled, but was able to polish and buff it out and save the paint. It helped that I used almost a whole can of the clear. lol Thanks for looking...
  16. I've got a 06 charger mad max charger and street gasser concept camaro started, a 41 willy's street gasser, slammed 41 willy's street rod planned or started and a 69 ply gtx,64 pontiac and a 70 challenger in the inspiration stages. Just hope the cash flow and motivation hold up. lol
  17. I use the wrapping wire from radio shack for distributors where MAD's prewired won't fit.
  18. Just find something easy and stupid that doesn't require a lot of thinking. I've had the same problem. Wife was started having fainting episodes in the beginning of October. She's been seeing specialists and going through tests for brain and heart and everything in between after passing out in the doctors office and being sent to the emergency room. Its been hard to come home after being at the doctor's/lab/hospital all day and work on several projects I have started, just no motivation. Our clubs Feb. theme is a Mad Max apocalyptic build. So it got me thinking, just cut up kits, use spare parts, and don't worry about perfect paint and details, go wild without any real thought. It seemed to work. I had two charger kits that I raided for the engines and assorted parts for previous builds, so I just started to destroy what was left and rebuild. It got to be fun again because I didn't have to worry about it being perfect. It got me going again. I still didn't have anything for our Jan. meeting's open theme, so I had a snap tight camaro concept that I modified and tried some new ideas on for a quick and fun build. It seemed to get the juices flowing again and I'm back planning my other projects, but it's been a long 3 months.
  19. Here is a link to the show on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOVnVksCwPU, its in three parts, it helps explain alot of the details like how they created the grille and the hood vents. I wish I had kept my dvr copy I had because I had been thinking about recreating it and the chevy p/u used in the movie Gamer.
  20. The truck was built by West Coast Customs for Stallone. If you can find the episode (it was orginally done on TLC or Discovery then repeats have been running on HDTHR) they cover the entire build. They built 3 trucks. Two to be used for stunt trucks in the movie and one for Stallone personal ride.
  21. Well I've been out of the loop for 20yrs and 2010 was my rebirth in modeling. Here they are in order of completion. It's been a good year...
  22. I'll start off by saying I'm a new poster/member to the forums, so I dont have much of a history or reputation here. I love this site compared to the many others I am a member of or visit for information, techniques, inspiration and improvement. I was out of modeling for almost 20 years and I couldn't believe the changes that have occurred over the years so Ive been on a new learning curve for the past 18 months. This site has been the most informative and inspiring site I've been on. I have learned and done things I never thought I could do. I always use posts on this site to create a new challenge on each kit I build, so when I post a model I expect feedback so I know what I'm doing right/wrong and improvement needed. If people are that thinned skinned then they will quit posting questionable work until they improve or they'll move on. I know that seems cold to some, but that's my honest opinion. My suggestion to this, if you seek honest constructive criticism indicate in your profile, signature or somewhere Seeking Criticism, Honest Opinions Welcome, etc. That way those looking to improve can and those that dont can keep feeling good about themselves. I'll be the first by adding "Honest Opinions Welcome" to my signature.
  23. Very nice indeed, I always loved that color.
  24. Sweeeet, looks just like one at the Goodguys show in August. Nice work...
  25. This was a quick and fun build of the Lindberg '34 pick up 3n1 kit. The only parts used from the kit were the radiator shell, body, bed and frame, everything else came from various kits and the parts box. The roof was chopped and the body lowered on the frame and finished off in Tamiya metallic and pearl greens.
