  1. I am in the process of scratch building some modern dirt LateModel and Modified cars. Once that is done some WOO cars are next then enough sportsman cars to make a heat race Diorama for the local race track.
  2. Looks cool. Knowing the kit started out as a Chevy and seeing how good the front is finished makes the build all the better. Where did you get the decals?
  3. I agree. Just because it is ugly and looks like ###### doesn't mean it still isn't a neat build.
  4. Most of the time the start and park teams are family business sponsored teams. I know several ARCA regulars/part time Nationwide start and parks that are that way. You are not going to see a major sponsor align themselves with a team like that.
  5. I don't like start and park teams either but you can't penalize them for not having the money to run full races. If it were not for the start and park teams Nascar wouldn't be filling the field every weekend. Everyone seems to be forgetting that.
  6. I would like to see them get rid of the auto qualifying for the top 35 in points. Also I think they should get rid of the provisional. If you want real close racing take the fastest cars not the top cars in points. That would make the points race closer and give smaller teams a chance at being in more races. Also two car teams max is the way it should be. Spread the teams and sponsors out allowing for everyone to have more quality cars. Honestly their really are only three teams that feed parts and equipment to all the lower teams anyway so it really is just a three or four team league.
  7. Links worked for me too.
  8. Might want to try posting in the wanted section. You will get a better response.
  9. I used to watch that site when I painted my gaming miniatures.
  10. I know hubless wheels are all the rage in prototype cars but I really do hope they never make it to main stream real world applications. They look neat but in real life are very impractical and dangerous.
  11. Looking at the Way Jeremy is dressed I think it is from the old Top Gear not the new one. I didn't realize that until I watched the video a few times.
  12. For the first time ever won and eBay auction. I feel bad I finally sold out but the deal was just to good to pass up.
  13. Anyone watch Top Gear? An engine is one thing but how about an entire running and operating scale Ferrari 312PB from scratch in your garage.
  14. I was going to say contact the museum too. They will probably be more than helpful if you tell them you are building a model of it.
  15. So I have asked what Blueprinter kits are and promo kits and now I am asking what an annual kit is? Thanks.
  16. Is that the one with the engine detail? I want one to but the are so expensive.
  17. Looks awesome. I have never been able to get stripes to come out that good.
  18. When are you opening up shop I will be first in line and thanks for showing so many cars maybe I can get my girlfriend to hush about me having just 29 kits.
  19. I buy kits in bulk all the time. Just a couple weeks ago I bought 10 kits from one guy and a month or so before that I bought about 25 but so far my biggest buy is 33 kits and about 20 pounds worth of parts. To me it all depends on what you are going to do with them. Are you collecting, building, or reselling. Each one comes with it's own set of purchasing amounts your not going to pay as much for something your going to resell as you would for something your going to collect and a "I'm going to build it" kit will fall somewhere between the other two. Once you have that figured out you are going to do with the kits you can get closer to a price you are willing to pay. Price guides are good but remember even though the price guide says it worth X number of dollars you still have to find a buyer that is going to pay that. I don't use eBay very often to get a price for anything be it a kit or parts. The prices are so inflated over what is found at model shows and at other online sites. If you are going to resell on eBay you can use it but otherwise just leave it be. This is my starting point for pricing in bulk if I were buying as I was going to build the cars: Sealed kits - 5 - 15 dollars depending on how much I want the subject car Open complete kits - 2.50 - 7.50 again depending on subject parts kits no matter how complete - 1 - 2.50 depending on amount complete If you are looking at vintage kits you can probably double those prices but just find a price you are willing to pay for things and go with that. You never know though the seller might not know anything about them or just want them gone. I bought some 30+ year old kits from a guy for 1 dollar each because he just didn't want them anymore. Most of the time you will have to negotiate a little but not much. Remember to always take cash. Most people especially older people will lower there prices if you have cash in hand. Also don't ever leave a sale on someone saying "It's worth more on ebay". They didn't sell it on ebay and you have cash.
  20. The truck looks great. Nice paint and the decals look like they went on well. Were those stock decals or aftermarket? I have always heard that the stock decals on the trucks are not very good. ----- Ummm... wow.
  21. I agree completely. My local had to close 5 races early because of low attendance. Really sad considering that 3 of the 5 classes of cars has the closest championship point battles in 10 or so years. If you want to see great racing go to a local track and watch them pour their heart and soul into every lap.
  22. A friend of mine just recently reminded me that back when we both worked at a hobby shop a guy ordered 36 of the Galaxie Limited 21 ft trailers and 18 each of the 36 ft trailers in tow behind and goose neck. I worked as the receiver for the shop and I remember getting them in but I don't remember if they were cases of 6 each or 12 each. Since the kits cost 25 each the total retail cost was $1,800 before tax. I think he got a discount it was either 15 or 20% but the sale was still over $1,500. The buyer was a new customer and never did tell anyone why he wanted so many of them. Galaxie even told us it was the largest single non-internet retailer order they had.
  23. The only thing about it I don't like is the front seats they seem to lack a ton of detail but that's not your doing so all in all the car looks great. I am not a fan of lowriders but both of yours look nice.
  24. Wish I would have gotten that for Christmas.
