Thanks Jesse, mirror brackets are are made from small steel wire bent to shape, I have also used paper clips, but this stuff is just easier to cut and bend. The mirror heads are from the kit. Another thing I don't like about some of these old kits is the glass, so I made new windows from clear packaging plastic, everything you buy now comes in it. The windshield took a few tries heating and shaping it but I think it looks a lot better than the original.

Been there done that, I have a full sheet that is so wrinkled its only good for little pieces, got a new one not too long ago at the LHS, which for me is 50 miles, and it is nice and smooth but it won't stick to anything !! the adhesive just isn't there, very frustrating. I have some old sheets probably 15 or so years old with a little left on them and they still work better than the new stuff, although I will say the new is a little shinier. I am going to contact them and try their customer service on this recent sheet that just isn't sticky and I'll let you know how I make out. Randy

I glue bombed a bunch of the 76 to 78s when I was a kid, sure wish I had them now, great kits. Would be a popular re-release for sure

Finally finished up the 56, I had set it aside because the seam in the roof reared its ugly head and I figured it would need repainted. The other day I thought what have I got to lose so I wet sanded it and luckily didn't go through the clear, I was able to polish it back out and it looks okay now. Got the photo etch set mainly for the grill, used the hood emblem, some scripts and the wipers too, man are those things a pain ! I like the way it turned out, now Im' pumped up to work on the 57. Did some bodywork on the 57 and picked out some wheels, think I'll flip the spindles and lower it a little. Thinking a nice red for this one ?

Thanks for all the compliments wheels are from AITM American Industrial Truck Models, He has a lot of neat stuff there. I agree with the suggestion of weathering it some too. I've never really done any weathering so I think I'll practice on some old ones and some of the die casts laying around here first, just got Dr.Crankys book too, gonna have to try some of the techniques Randy

I agree too, Thanks Art What you said about the old AMT trucks is true but that is part of what keeps drawing me back to them, I really enjoy working with them to get it "just right" and without some challenges and careful thought and planning I can get bored with a kit very quickly. I think that's why one of my next projects is a Pocher Fiat, you hear a lot of problems with the Pochers and it just makes me want to try one for myself ! Randy
