  1. And sand the chrome off along with it?
  2. Ever notice how kit chrome looks a little too...toyish? I've got news for you All I do is take some acrylic black paint, and pretty much soak all the chrome in it. Then once it dries, I wipe the black paint off. Here's the difference: (One on the left is stock chrome, one on the right is after the black wash) It really tones down the chrome and makes it look more realistic. But, unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to get rid of the sprue attachment points
  3. Get rid of clear coat fogging? Kind of hard to see in the picture: I used enamel clear coat. I sanded it with 12,000 grit for a few minutes but that didn't really do much. Thanks
  4. Welcome! Some very impressive builds you got there
  5. I'm gonna soak it then...Thanks for all the help guys Art, I can easily afford a really good airbrush, but I'm saving up for other things.
  6. I'm sorry! It's a Harbor Freight double action AB. Model Master enamels, and Model Master lacquers. I'm constantly switching from lacquer to enamel, vice versa. I use a mix of mineral spirits and lacquer thinner for cleaning.
  7. Thanks everyone...I guess I just wasn't getting it clean enough
  8. My airbrush is ALWAYS clogged. And when it DOES shoot paint, it spits it out! Before you start asking obvious questions... Yes, the paint is thin enough. I actually tried thinning it out to water's consistency...still won't even shoot! I always clean the needle, nozzle, and inside of it. I run a bunch of thinner through it to get everything out. I'm running about 33-35 PSI too. So I'm really discouraged right now. I'm considering quitting airbrushing altogether and going back to can. For me, it's just not worth spending 15+ minutes cleaning the airbrush EVERY time.
  9. Wow, I always thought they'd be the same for all V8s. Just can't figure out how they'd be different. Got some research to do Thanks for the chart!
  10. So if I understood that correctly, I need to open the holes on the wheels?
  11. Thanks guys Will white glue work as a liquid mask?
  12. How would one go about painting the silver area in the '69 Camaro Rally Rims? Thanks in advance.

  14. I had to strip Tamiya lacquer off my Tamiya McLaren M8A, paint was only a few minutes old, yet it still took forever. To cut a long story short I just ended up using my trusted mineral spirits.
  15. I second that, one almost took my left eye out
  16. I've always stuck to Excel, cheap but still great blades
  17. I love it! I had so much fun watching this build, I'll keep an eye on future builds of yours
  18. You mean...the very FIRST one to roll off the production line? Oh, and when I glanced at the title I thought it said "Hot Bigwheel"
  19. '69 Z/28 in the Box Stock class...so far it's my best model, but let's see what I screw up this time
  20. I'm still around, however I'm hauling butt on my Revell contest car so the '55 hasn't seen any attention.
  21. I don't mind watching it for the building and all (which there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of...), but in my personal opinion JJ is just an arrogant jerk. I do admire his building style though.
  22. That's my computer! No, I just visit it on a Compaq laptop. I'd use my parent's phones but the keyboards are annoying.
  23. What was that thing about a family forum again???
  24. Keep in mind though I was only 10/11 then, and I didn't know of any other places to dump it.
  25. I used to dump it 50 feet from the well...then I took it 150 feet away!
