  1. This is looking great, the paint turned out awesome!
  2. Thanks guys! I've got the functional front suspension done and I'm working on a setup to make the rear suspension functional and still look like airbags. I'll post pics tonight once I have it figured out completely.
  3. I'll be there! I just need to finish my 49' merc build now..
  4. Same here, I can't find anything on their site about it
  5. Harbor Freight sells a dual action airbrush for around $20 that is great for beginners, I still use mine a lot for painting large parts. If you want an airbrush that does really fine detail work a Badger 105 with a super fine needle works great. Here's one I painted using the badger.
  6. I normally build pro touring cars and modern customs but lately I've been really wanting to build the Moebius International Lonestar.
  7. I would start with a Superbird and 57 Chevy for the body and maybe a Ford GT for the mid engine chassis and interior.
  8. I've been wondering about this build too, any progress?
  9. Here's a few more pics Thanks for looking, let me know what you think. Billy
  10. Here's something I've been working on for a few weeks now. The quarters and fenders have been widened to accept wider tires from a die cast Lamborghini, the subframe is being modified to look lime an aftermarket one, and the engine has TPI from a Monte Carlo kit and a custom Procharger made out of some spare blower parts. The plan is to paint it gloss black and maybe soome carbon fiber panels.
  11. I'll definitely be watching! looks like you have a great build plan for this.
  12. Very nice bodywork, I can't wait to see the rest of the paint!
  13. This turned out amazing! The 1:1 is one of my favorite show cars and you have captured it's look perfectly.
  14. Nice work! The paint looks perfect.
  15. Thanks Mike and Jason!, the engine bay is completely scratchbuilt from. .040 sheet styrene. Using the second hood would've probably worked better though since the styrene doesn't hold bends very well.
  16. I got the floor painted, It's Kustom Shop triple deep black with Nason select clear urethane. thanks for looking. Billy
  17. I like where this is going!
  18. It's great to see this one is back! I can't wait for more progress.
  19. The air filter is out of the phantom vickie kit, i'm not sure if it'll be staying though. I'm thinking about making some kind of dual cold air intake.
  20. The rear suspension, airbags, and most of the crossmembers are scratchbuilt on this 49' Merc frame. (It's also shortened quite a bit)
  21. Nice work! The chop looks perfect and the paint colors go together really well. You've got me wanting to finish mine now!
  22. Thanks Do nminik and Doc Cranky! Paint time is going to be real soon. I finally got ahold of an appropriate engine for this build froom Chris L. (Clavender17) it's from the AMT 32 ford phantom vickie and I added a scratchbuilt blower and detail master wiring.i still need to make an engine cover for it to tie it in to the engine bay. Thanks for looking, next step is paint!
  23. Here's the current one, I update it as the build progresses.
  24. I'm glad you all like it! I'm gonna try to get it cleared tomorrow as long as the weather stays decent.
