  1. Appears to be in pretty good shape, Ron. At least yours was spared the usual indignities suffered by built models in that era - glue damage from continental spare kits, "kruzer" skirts and having the trim sanded off with a hunk of concrete!!! I will be interested in this - one of my treasures is a relatively nice built 61 Imp droptop!!
  2. Great model, Bob!! That paint shade appears to be a dead-on match - looks ready to cruise down to Woolco to shop for some Zingers kits, bell bottoms and eight tracks!!!
  3. I wish you nothing but the best, Mr. Paeth!! I look forward to hearing more "insider" tales of the golden age of modeling!!!
  4. Indeed Gregg is an all-around good guy - one could almost consider him a "Lord" of our hobby......
  5. Very impressive, Steve!! This should result in an intriguing replica!!!
  6. After getting a good look at the "beak" of that creation, all I can say is GODSPEED, Mike!!!
  7. Neat concept!!! Is a Plum Crazy Datsun 510 with a shaker scoop waiting in the wings??
  8. Stunning Goat, Ron!! The additional detailing and flawless finish really show the potential of the old MPC castings!!
  9. Beautiful Cadillac, Ron!!!
  10. Masterful conversion work so far - the weathering makes it appear delightfully used!! Interesting subject matter as well - when I see Maynard Troyer I automatically think "Modifieds"!!
  11. I wish MY paintwork had your "problems"!!! The finish looks incredible!!!
  12. LORD, if I could only build like that.....!! Incredible - I second the statement about the front pump being a model unto itself!! Did you begin with a Modelhaus cab, or did you create your own from a Revell 64 Chevy?? The ends of the hard suction lines appear to be turned metal - your own creations?? Beautiful replica - works like these make me feel like an eight-year-old with a tube o' glue and a spray can!!!
  13. Wonderfully crafted replica, Ron!!
  14. It really shouldn't work together - but BOY, it sure does!!! Neat concept!!!
  15. Nicely done conversion, Ron!! It does appear more in line with the "Baroque" styling treatment of the rest of the body!!
  16. Color looks "right on" for the era - it reminds me of a refrigerator from my childhood!! Thanks for bringing this one back factory stock, right down to the "Amana" green!!
  17. I stand corrected, and am doubly impressed, Ron!!! Combine my hands, a compass, tires and paint, and you get a spectacular mess!!!
  18. Neat replicas, Terry!! It DOES take some getting used to seeing one of your replicas with shiny paint and chrome, though!!
  19. Wonderful idea, Ron!! The in-progress shots look great - am I guessing correctly that you sourced the tires from the recent AMT 66 Riviera? One tends to overlook the fact that the majority of the E-bodies produced were something OTHER than Hemis, Six-Packs or AAR-T/As!!!
  20. My latest project has been working with the venerable AMT rehit of the MPC 72 Chevy Cheyenne annual. Please bear with me - this is the first time I have posted my efforts here, and I realize that my efforts are not as advanced as many of the others shown here!! First off, we have the one-piece chassis - finished, for better or worse! The dash and interior shell are more or less complete - I still need to add the A/C vents to the dash, and flock or otherwise carpet the floor: The body has the color coats on at present. Paint and primer is Duplicolor. Clear and BMF remain to be done: It struck me as odd that a fancy Cheyenne has A/C vents on the dash yet no compressor or power accessories, so I decided to "option out" the motor. A second belt assembly was added to the kit piece along with a P/S belt/pulley from a Revell smallblock, then blended together with Evergreen styrene and putty with pulley faces were added: Thanks for looking!!
  21. REALLY nicely done T-Bird!! Your craftsmanship in blending the clips in, finishing and decalling is spotless!!!
  22. Strikingly finished G-Body!! I just wish my 1:1 SS looked as robust right now....
  23. I am sorry to see this - the first feeling I had looking at your pics was a queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. Outdoor contests/displays are BAD NEWS - I got to see the Flourescent Red on my 92 Petty Pontiac turn various brown shades under the clearcoat after getting "sunburned" at a show 15 years ago, and it still upsets me!
  24. I have been following your progress intently, Colin - I have the same kit and agree with your assessment of its accuracy!! Perhaps you may want to offer this as a transkit instead of a complete kit - it might lower the price resistance among modelers and provide you with more potential customers??
