  1. I did look at more vintage bikes but the problem is that the ones i found are 1/25 and the VW is 1/24 so they looked small on the bed So I decided to to the old and new combo.
  2. What I'm not sure about is the mount for the motorcycle. I'm thinking a type of hard mount for the front wheel. But for the back do I use a strap that goes over the tire. Any ideas?
  3. It is the Hasagawa VW kit without the sides installed.
  4. Ok so I might be doing this wrong as I started with a perfectly good finished Tamiya 1/24 Honda Repsol bike. And I turned it into this...a pile of parts...and getting into this pile of parts wasn't easy as they use some serious glue at the factory. Also not knowing where the attachment points were made it tough. But in the end I got it all apart with on one very minor cracked part. And the paint wasn't easy to strip either. But I won in the end...mostly. The plan is to give it a custom paint job, maybe do the fairing in carbon fiber. And then mount it on the back of this which will have a matching paint job The VW is a cool kit but the interior is lacking at best, so some fabrication will be needed. I did make a new VW emblem for the front and recessed it
  5. Thanks. The decals are from KA-Models. http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/shop/kamkd24004.html They are very nice and went on without any problems.
  6. Cool build, I really like the blend of kits to make it your own.
  7. And now for something completely different from what I usually build. A Ferrari racer. This is the Fujimi kit with several aftermarket photo etched set used for detail. The only difficult part on the build was thinning the plastic in places to get the PE mesh pieces to not look frenched in. I also put a bit of work into the engine compartment and interior but once it was buttoned up you can barely tell, but it was fun doing it. Oh the giant one piece roof decal was a little challenging.
  8. Just because you can doesn't mean you should
  9. That is some great work. Just wondering but have you tried to make one with an even thinner rim?
  10. Very interesting, any idea of a price point?
  11. Um...lets see...something nice to say....the background sure is blue
  12. I'm going to have to try this and I don't even have plans to build a 41. Probably will once i'm done
  13. I made one just like this but i then put a small zip-loc bag over the bottle. Now any possible paint explosion is contained,
  14. You make it look so easy. Picasso was the same.
  15. Very simple but easy, thx
  16. Thanks for the heads-up
  17. Nice turn out and thanks for the pictures
  18. Nice to see all of the pic's, maybe someday I'll make it out there.
  19. But as we all know no matter how big the room we all build a 12 inch by 12 inch area
  20. I live just outside of Ann Arbor Mi and we used to have a LHS that due to various reasons went out of business. Then almost 2 years ago we had a new shop open, The Model Cave. This is an old timey shop. They only sell models, no RC, trains, games or crafty things. John and Melissa are the best, very friendly and they always go the extra mile to get you want. You just don't find that level of customer service at any big box store.
  21. I really dig those big old wagons
  22. Just a little effort and that will buff out. Nice job.
  23. I really like those old Poncho drag cars, great work
  24. Do you have any pic's of the MCRC Olds? I didn't find it on their website
  25. Very cool, Somewhere I have a picture of a 42 Woody painted overall olive drab and a star on the hood. Would make an interesting model.
