Wheels sized to fit the tires in one of the widely available and many times reissued in several different varieties 1925 and 1923 Model T kits from AMT would be awesome. The ICM Ford Model T kits are great kits and very well detailed, however they are not nearly as common as the AMT kits. And 2-3 times as expensive when you find one. The wheels look great. Looking forward to seeing them in resin.

You are most likely going to like the tamiya tape and want to kick yourself in the rear for not using it sooner. Make sure the edges are burnished down well and you should not have and bleed under.

Me too but I predict that it would go really bad really fast. To the level of warning points and maybe banishment bad. Everybodies sense of humor is different. What some might consider a very black sense of humor would likely only be light gray to others. That is what I'm saying, quite often the shops do not realize that the automatic shipping calculator on their websites have a major brain fart when it comes to foreign orders. I cannot remember who I was ordering from a while back but it was something similar, it was about a $10 part and it was $25 for shipping and once I brought it to his attention he was as shocked as I was. He calculated the actual shipping on the part weight and it was around a $6 charge. You have to try and remember that the guy who designs the website and the guy who makes the parts and runs the business are usually not the same person. If no one brings it to their attention they cannot fix it. I have even seen websites that say if you are a foreign buyer please contact us for a shipping quote as the shipping calculator will not give you a correct total. IMO, it is worth the time to send them a simple email to ask if the shipping total is correct. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

UPS got into trouble over there brokerage fee scam. There was a class action lawsuit launched in Ontario several years ago which recently was decided and the judgment came down against UPS. The payout was something like 6.8 million dollars. There is currently at least one more class action lawsuit against them for the same scam in BC.

Was the $40 in shipping automatically calculated? Maybe contact them and ask about it. Some shipping rates that are automatically calculated at check out are way off base. I have found that most retailers will adjust them accordingly if you contact them and ask. Especially for something like photoetch that can be shipped in an envelope with a bit of cardboard to keep it from getting bent. Have you tried eBay? There are several sellers on there that will ship for actual shipping cost.

Thanks. I have the convertible so I know that they are not fixed in it. Was hoping with all of the other things that Round2 is fixing and backdating that they might fix the hardtops taillights too. No worries though. I bought several resin bumper/taillight/lens sets the last time I went to the NNL east.

These are what I am hoping that Round2 restored the tooling to. The picture of the taillights that SSnova posted that he is looking for are the blobbish taillights that have been in the kit for a very long time. The reason that they bug me so much is that I have a 69 Chevelle and I know how wrong the ones in the kit are. I am in Canada so it will be a couple or three months before we see the kit up here unless I want to pay a premium on eBay for it. You were the first person who I saw that posted that they had one in their hand so I figured that I would ask.

Why? Guns and shooting are a hobby for a lot of people just like any other hobby. Shooting can be a lot of fun when done safely. And a great way to relieve stress as well. Shoot a tannerite target at 300 yards and it's quite a thrill to watch it explode. Lets you know right away whether you hit what you were aiming at or not. I convinced my wife to try target shooting with a .22 and she had a blast. She wants to get her own gun now. My oldest daughter is 12 and she was taught the basics of gun safety several years ago. I have two small children as well and once they get older they'll be taught the basics as well. I don't want them to be afraid of firearms but they're for sure going to respect them.

Don and Carol Holthaus did not "jump ship". They were in their mid 70's and wanted to retire. Not that big of a shock that they would want to retire and enjoy life without working their butts off every day. Also, I'm not entirely sure how you figure that nobody's producing plastic model kits cars anymore. Revell for instance did not shut down because Revell couldn't produce and sell model kits. They got caught up in the hobbico bankruptcy and by most reports they were one of the few arms of the Hobbico empire that was actually turning a profit. They were purchased by Revell of Germany which never stop producing model kits and ROG is going to start issuing some of the current and newer Revell kits. They sold off a bunch of the vintage Revell tooling and other tooling that they saw no profit in for themselves. Atlantis models bought a bunch of the tooling and is already planning on producing several of the old Revell kits that haven't been available for years. Round2 (Amt, etc) never stopped producing model kits. They've been going through their tooling catalog fixing, updating and backdating and giving us reissues of kits that in some cases we haven't seen for years. Add to that all of the cool stuff that Moebius is coming out with along with Tamiya, Fujimi, Aoshima and several of the other smaller producers worldwide I am baffled as to how you seem to think that no one is producing plastic model kits anymore. Along with all of the companies that are still producing (and selling) plastic model kits there is also a growing aftermarket support with resin cast pieces photo etch stuff and detail parts along with complete aftermarket multimedia kits if that's where you want to go. From where I sit the good old days of the model kit hobby are right now. Yes I agree with you the Baby Boomers are dying off however there are an awful lot of guys who are in their mid-thirties to mid-forties right now that grew up building model kits that either never left the hobby or are getting back into it and have the money to spend on them now and the buying power to keep the model companies producing kits for quite a lot of years yet.

Those carbs look amazing. Are you planning on selling any of these parts to the general public? Depending on price I would be interested in 16 or maybe twenty-four of those carburetors. Those would be just the ticket to make a traditional Rod engine pop.

If you are building a stock model T, most of them did not have wire wheels. They had wooden 12 spoke wheels. Some aftermarket companies offered wire wheels and some late model T's IIRC were fitted with them.

Shipping was no good but those Revell of Germany boxes are part of the problem. They are really weak to begin with.

How does the Ghia kit compare to the Bug kit? Is it similar and parts count in layout or is it more or less complex? Any chance you could post a pic of the contents? I built that Bug as a kid and I have picked up another to have a second go at it. Didn't know that they made a Ghia as well. Always liked them.

Not sure about with other models and manufacturers but in my experience with Chevelles, the finish on the underside of the hood depended on the plant that vehicle was built in. Some plants it was painted semi-gloss black underneath and other plants it was left body color. Usually not finished to the shine of the outside of the body but painted the same color. And in most cases in my experience if the underside of the hood is the same color as the body, the firewall is painted body color as well.

Frost Quakes sound more like someone running into your house with a truck. Or maybe two trucks. When the ones hit Southern Ontario were widespread enough that they were on the news. And in my neighborhood was talking about them for several days. Two of my neighbors apparently met each other outside in about 4 a.m. checking their houses over to see if there was any damage because it was that loud.

Google "frost quakes". They are real and very spooky. Had them in southern Ontario the last couple of years. Around here they always seem to happen in the middle of the night. I woke up to one big one a couple of years ago because stuff on shelves in the house was rattling. I got up to wander around the house just to check things over and when I went into the kitchen, the light hanging from the ceiling above the kitchen table with swinging back and forth. So I know from personal experience some of them are strong enough to give the house a good shake.

Pretty sure that the bed cover was in the issue from lindberg that was molded in yellow. Not sure about any of the other issues. Here is hoping that the "lost" parts can be restored by merely opening some blocked off sprue runners.

Some people still haven't gotten the message that NASCAR stuff isn't worth anything anymore. They still think they're in the glory days in the 90s when stuff like that was worth $25-$30-$40 apiece. ( not meaning specifically this guy - I don't know him from Adam. I mean some people in general) I still see plenty of guys at toy shows with mid 90's NASCAR kits with $25 price tags on them and they don't understand why they can't sell them.

Pretty sure it is this kit. Was issued in monogram boxes a few different times. I have seen it molded in royal blue and a medium green. To my knowledge it has not been reissued in a very long time.
