  1. Those are neat little cars. We restored one at the shop I used to work at a few years back and if I recall correctly you could basically take the whole car apart with a 1/2 inch wrench, a flat head screwdriver and a phillips screwdriver.
  2. If I recall correctly that Chevelle is part of a Wix three-car set. Came with a Bronco? Tow vehicle, a flat deck open trailer and then the "race car" Chevelle. Both the Chevelle and the Bronco are coin banks. I think if you were to paint the roll cage or remove the roll cage the roof would look look more normal. The roll cage hanging down below the drip rail like that kind of throws your eye off. Wix also made at least one other three car set with a 59 El Camino tow rig the same flat deck trailer and a 57 Chevy race car to put on the trailer.
  3. Glad you found someone. Got any pictures of the car??
  4. I'm not a supercar guy by any stretch of the imagination but that camo Lamborghini looks pretty cool.
  5. Are all 4 chrome reverse rims the same size or are they a set of big'n little's?
  6. My suggestion would be jump on the H.A.M.B. There are a whole bunch of reviews on various shippers on there and a couple of H.A.M.B. Alliance vendors that are shippers that have excellent reviews. And most of them don't care whether it's a new car or an old car as long as it has the paperwork in order they will ship it for you. And I know some of them charge different rates depending on whether it's a roller or a project or moves under its own power. Check here for vendors advertising their services and reviews on said vendors. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/the-h-a-m-b-odex.12/
  7. Yes. Here is an ebay link to the same car as the one pictured. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-BENZ-W-155-200D-1968-1-24-New-Box-Diecast-model-Car-miniature/352527630865?hash=item521448c211:g:y0QAAOSwb3laCAU~ Alternatively you can search "Hachette Mercedes 1/24" in Google Images and a bunch of them will pop up as well.
  8. Sounds like a good trade. ?
  9. Thanks a bunch. Those wheels and tires look great. I've already got a couple of projects I could use those on. Awesome, thanks man. No worries, hope my answer didn't come across as sarcastic or rude because it wasn't intended that way at all. And my patience was rewarded, Anthony posted pictures of it.
  10. Can't. I'm on limited data on my phone right now because I'm out in the boonies. We've just bought a new (old) house and we don't have any kind of internet or Wi-Fi at the house set up yet. We are working on getting our barn up and running before any of that happens. I haven't even watched a television program since the middle of July. Too busy to even get the DVR out of the box it's packed in. As far as on my phone, videos eat up my data really fast. It's bad enough with the pictures on the site. Sorry man but videos are no bueno unless I'm on Wi-Fi which only happens once every week or week and a half when I get to town. I was really happy being patient waiting and hoping for someone to post a picture of the wheels and tires. That eventually happened so maybe somebody will eventually post pictures of the rest of the contents of the kit. Or or the very least let those of us who can't watch the video know what's in the box.
  11. Are the stock wheels and tires included in the kit as well or just the chrome reverse wheels and wide white tires?
  12. Cost a bit of money but far less work: http://www.rocketfin.com/resin_product.cfm?id=5315 Maybe not even as much money as you might think if you ended up having to buy 3 kits to make one body.
  13. I just about fell off the couch laughing when I read this. My wife thinks I'm nuts and is giving me the SSSSSHHHH the baby is sleeping glare. Funniest one that I have read in quite a while. The conversion kit is looking great. Looking forward to when we can order some. Any idea of a price point yet?
  14. He has been corrected at least twice on the name of one of the pioneers of hot rodding and he still doesn't have enough respect to get Don Tognotti's name properly spelled. One of the posts where regular guy misspelled the name he had a picture of the box art for the King T that had Don's name in big letters on the box lid and he still mangled the name. No respect given means less than none earned in return.
  15. Wheels and tires are completely different. Kit has the wire style wheels from the last MPC issue (red car with grey stripes, issued after the Rockin Roller) and the fat treaded goodyear(?) Tires, not the slicks shown. Also has the Mr. Gasket style street scoop on the two fours, not the gasser style scoop shown on the box art. I believe the hood has the opening all the way to the back to clear the bigger scoop as well, not the closed at the back part shown on the box art.
  16. Casey, I still have the engine/trans in my shop that is in the picture posted a few posts above this one. What all measurements would you like? Just the valve cover sizes? I can get them for you tomorrow. It's cold and rainy tonight so I'm not going back out to the shop tonight.
  17. Hey everyone just noticed this on eBay. I know this is a sought-after resin conversion kit that does not pop up very often so I figured I would let you guys know about it. I have no connection to the auction at all and I personally have no interest in this conversion so I have no dog in the race for this one. Just figured I would let you guys know about it. The eBay item number is 362459720592 Not sure if I'm allowed to post a direct link or not. As of this posting there is 9 days and change left in the auction.
  18. Some of the flat box kits were molded in white and some were molded in orange. You had to look for the little sticker that tells you what color they were molded in. Although, maybe not all of the boxes got the sticker.
  19. Folks like that are one of the reasons that train horns on trucks (and cars) are becoming pretty popular. One two second blast at 180db tends to get the point across. Usually the slowpoke lane hogs move into over into the slow lane before a second blast is warranted.
  20. Taillights are completely different as well.
  21. Dehinitely interested. Will this be a nose and taillights to fit the AMT body or is this going to be a complete Beaumont body? Hopefully a nose piece and tail lights so that I can do a hardtop and convertible.
  22. Given the style of the wheel and the color of the plastic and the fact that I have one that looks almost the same, I am pretty sure that the melted wheel and tire are out of one of the early issues of the Orange Crate.
  23. Yup. Two of the big no-no's on here. No politics, no religious posts. Just going to start a fight no matter how well intentioned the original post is. Nobody will be right and nobody will be wrong.
  24. The monogram coupe has been released in 3 if not 4 different shades of green depending on the age and issue.
  25. Yeah, I have to agree with Niteowl. Unless they got that tooling for basically scrap value I cannot see it being the greatest investment. The market is still pretty much flooded with those mid 90s early 2000s NASCAR kits. Not sure how they will mold more and make any money doing it. And having seen some of their new offerings I don't have a whole lot of confidence in the Salvino's abilities to "update" these kits and have them be an accurate representation of whatever they update them to.
