  1. Very cool truck! Maybe some detailing or a wash on the wheels! Too clean!
  2. You did a great job putting that 'cuda together! Engine compartment is well done. Looks like you had problems with that lower radiator hose. I did too!
  3. Well done! Super clean! WF
  4. Nothing like a red hot rod with Cragars! Nice job!
  5. I like it! Well assembled and clean! What did you use to wrap the roll bar? WF

    68 vette

You did a terrific job on that one! Very clean.
  7. Great job! It was worth all of the time invested!
  8. I did a play on the " Funny Gremlin" name. Decals were ink jet printed.
  9. Stars and stripes
  10. I'm pretty sure that the grille came from the funny car kit as that kit was in my "pile of parts" that included the Funny Gremlin decals.
  11. One of the Jersey shore model car club members gave me a body and some parts so I don't know where the grill originated
  12. Thank you all! Paint! AMCs have to be red, white, and blue, right?
  13. Top notch! The paint looks perfect for a car like this and the tin work is terrific! WF
  14. Experimented with rivets. Drilled out all the rivet marks on the engine cover and pushed .035 rod through, sanded them down, and painted the engine cover gloss aluminum. Next, I painted the cover with clear red to simulated anodizing. Finally, I carefully removed the paint above the rivet heads. A lot of work! Fuel injection system was plumbed and ignition wires and boots installed. WF
  15. Great car! Great story! Isn't it cool that we can now build replicas of the cars that made such an impression on us? I too was 13 when I made my first trip to the drags. I don't remember much about that summer of '69 but that day at National Speedway is etched in my mind! WF
  16. It took a lot of filing and sanding but I got it to look ok to my eyes. Engine is tight in the chassis! Just for fun, I made my own coil over shocks using red wire.
  17. I like this one.......a lot! Good work on the paint job. Shirley was a great asset for Chrysler as the first woman to win an NHRA national event eliminator title (1966 Winternationals Super Stock). She was frustrated with Chrysler's demands that she run an automatic transmission. When she switched to AMC in '69 she got to shift with a clutch once again!
  18. Lots of "mud" !
  19. Isn't there another hoop that is still to be installed? That would offer protection to the belts. Being an NHRA tech inspector, I get anal about safety equipment, even in scale! WF
  20. Big thumbs up! I would like to see that truck with Torque Thrusts. WF
  21. Body was stretched while the Polar Lights chassis had to be shortened!
  22. Fenders were easy , this part, I don't know.
  23. What to do with two Gremlin bodies and a lot of putty! I added a little over a scale foot to the nose using sections from a donor body.
  24. So, you can't crank the windows unless you open the doors. Only a problem when you try to get your time slip! lol Very cool model! Inner door panels look great and the rusty roof looks perfect!
  25. Really looks like a fun project! Love the use of color, strange color combos but it somehow works on this car. P.S. Regarding the shoulder belts. Think of what would happen if the car flipped on to it's cage!
