Really well done! Nice photos too! It looks like the decals fit very well over the engraving . I sanded the lettering off on mine and just used the decals. Looks like I didn't have to! WF

If you purchased a Revell '70 'cuda kit you know that it can only be built as a Hemi car, but if you have a decent stash of Mopar parts you can change it up a bit. A 383 car would have an 8.75" differential. I used one from an AMT '71 Charger. It only needed a bit of narrowing. The exhaust pipes were easily modified by splicing in the head pipes from the parts box. I used the Hemi block but mounted the wedge heads, intake, and exhaust manifolds from the parts box. Although the kit's Rallye wheels would have been correct for 1970, wanted to use the 14" Magnum 500 style wheels. The " B5" blue paint is actually a G.M. color Nassau Blue Metallic but it looks close to me!

Bill, there is no "correct" color for a race engine. Whatever color that the builder favored would be used. They could be spray painted with VHT from rattle cans or even brush painted with Rustoleum. Use any color you like. Black was (and still is) very popular. Find something that contrasts or compliments the frame and body work. The sky is the limit! I used flat red on this one to compliment the red frame and body work. WF

Vince, D.L. ran a number of different Challengers and Darts with similar but sometimes very different paint schemes. Red, white, and blue. Red, silver, and blue, Orange, blue, and white and even a Dart Sport Pro Stock that was Orange, white, and metallic brown. More than one Pro Stock car per season and dozens of Super Stock cars over the years. Although sometimes similar, there was no "official" paint scheme and set of colors that carried over from season to season. WF

Super job! I did a copy of that paint scheme a few years ago. It was difficult to say the least. You nailed it! WF

I was excited when I saw "'68 GTX" in the title. Ahhh, it's a '69. It does have a '68 hood on it though. Regardless, it's a really well done car! Like the stripes.

The guys "in the know" would use a pinion snubber ( won't see it on a finished model). Other tricks were to take the straps off the rear section of leaf spring. Often, cars were lifted a bit with longer rear spring shackles. You would see shock extensions on some of these lifted cars. Bolt on traction bars were a big no-no on street driven Mopars. If you used them you were considered a dork! WF
