  1. Well done engine!
  2. Thanks for the tips on the Krylon and using dull cote over the flat black. I will try both! WF
  3. I probably would have been better off if I made my windows from clear sheet and super glued them in.
  4. I know that someone is going to ask "Got any engine shots?" So..... "How about a chassis shot?" And a shot without the finger print on the door: WF
  5. Just finished this Tudor that I built for a friend of mine. He is building a 1:1 at this time. Not meant to be an exact replica but a "similar" car. I asked him what color the body would be....."flat black". O.k., the chassis?... "flat black". The engine?... "flat black". Let me guess on the interior....black vinyl? "Yep". Arrrrgh, too much black! The grille was blacked out with The Detailer wash. Came out pretty good. The cowl lamps are fog lights from the new Revell 'cuda because my carpet ate one of the kit parts! You can see the dust print on the door. Really hard to keep flat black clean! I'll wipe it down before delivery. The wide whites are something that I liked and felt necessary to contrast with all of that flat black. The window glass was a real p.i.t.a. as it kept popping out when stretching the body to fit over the interior tub. I had to reinstall them from outside the car after the tub was installed! You literally have to stretch the body almost to the breaking point to get that tub in. I forgot to install the tail lights and plate bracket before I mounted the body to the chassis! I was not going to try and pop that tub out again! I measured and drilled the holes on the almost completed car.I think that I got away with it. I'm glad that I wont have to look at this one anymore! I hope that he likes it! WF
  6. One of the better weathering jobs that I have seen. Great job on the interior and that flat tire looks very realistic! WF
  7. Some very nice workmanship here! WF
  8. Nice job once again Al, but I want to see more of that slot car track! WF
  9. Here are some "finished" photos of the 'cuda. I added a sponsor. WF
  10. You could always post it like this: No one will notice the nose bleed stance!
  11. Beautiful paint work!
  12. I was liking the yellow but the blue looks real nice. Word of advice: Ditch the power brake booster. Real race cars don't have them. Not enough engine vacuum to make them work and on a real Dart you would never be able to remove the valve cover. WF
  13. That is a 426 Hemi with a modified (Chevy?) timing cover.
  14. You are doing a great job! Can't wait to see it done. Can't wait to see the imports return to Raceway Park! El Humilde is the baddest race car on the planet! And this is coming from an old school, NHRA stock, super/stock guy! If they are racing at a track near you (or even far away) you must go. You will find out what Fuel Altered racing was like back in the day! Some of the best drivers you will ever see too. Like Jorge Lazcano, Jorge Juarbe, Carlos Montano...etc. Fearless! Good stuff
  15. What a great representation of a '70s street car! It's like a time capsule! The jacked up stance is perfect. Hi Jackers? My only critique is that the paint is too nice. Most of our cars back then were a little rough around the edges. lol WF
  16. I started to build this with a Y block and then it hit me.....this thing will never pull the wheels off the ground with that tractor engine!
  17. I have to try and remember. Gotta write this stuff down when I build. Body and chassis rails are Bantam Blast. Roll cage was modified to look more period correct. Scratch built coil over shocks and modified front susp. Basic engine is a Revell Parts Pack 427 with parts box blower and hat. Slicks and front wheels are resin items purchased at NNL East. Front tires were boiled in hot water (really!) and stretched to fit the wheels. Sponsor decals were made by me to depict a fictional So Cal shop. That's all I remember at the moment. WF
  18. "Looks awesome! When you do get your collector teathers, make sure they are NHRA approved! " Let's see...... Since this build is supposed to be circa 1985, I won't need those tethers for another 30 years ! Whew
  19. Very well done Felix! Bring it to the next JSMCC meeting so I can see it in person . I'm sure that my iPhone does not do it justice. WF
  20. Thank you ! But it's not really Gasser. Once you alter the wheelbase as I did it becomes an Altered .
  21. What's with you guys? Engine swaps used to be quite common. There is even a name for it. It's called "hot rodding" and as long as you don't put a Chevy in a Mopar body, it's perfectly o.k. WF
  22. Very well done! Great detail work.
  23. No, it is attached to the crossmember directly behind it. See the bolts going horizontally back to the cross member? No? Use your imagination! Does the oil pan sit too close to the crossmember and axle? Yes, but there is actually no oil in it.
  24. I believe that the full width panel on the deck lid, along with the roll down rear windows and premium vinyl interior were 68 1/2 model year options. WF
  25. Keth Marks decals are pretty good. I've used them a number of times. The tail end decals saved the build! WF
