I have some things for you but been a little tied up. Will send as soon as I can. Thank you -
Tamiya 312b 1/12. Bought this from a estate sale for $40. Had a few issues but not anything that could not be fixed. Need to find some seat belts. This kit is the first round so it has a driver and a really bad seat belt arrangement. Trying to build it out of box. Rounded the tire edges so they do not look so bad. The front tires are a little too wide but will have to do. Not 100 percent copy of Mario’s car. Just a relaxing build between the super snake and ford GT. Thank you Chris for the decals. Old tamiya decals are tough. Added some evergreen to the inside for mounting purpose. I have to thank Chris for the heads up on the tough mounting positions on the body.

Pics of the real car. To summarize the story; Goodyear wanted to do a tire test for their regular tires. Thunderbolt was the name of these tires. (White walls)For regular passenger cars. A advertisement for Goodyear. Shelby asked Fred Goodell (shelbys chief engineer) to put a ford GT mk 2 427 into a regular Shelby Mustang. A super snake was born. Tested in Texas the Shelby went 170 mph. Fred Goodell averaged 142 mph for 500 miles. Test successfull. Only one super snake made because of the cost of the mk2 427 engine. $7500 for the car which was well into the 427 cobra territory. The only Shelby Mustang to have a tri stripe . Fast forward to today. The 1967 super snake went for 2.2 million at auction. A very brief story on the car.

Original 1/25 AMT Cobra - A Retrospective
Brudda replied to Gramps46's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Love it!!! When I was a kid I saw a completed model of the amt cobra in a display window at a hobby shop. Was the best thing I ever saw! Every time I see a amt cobra I will try to buy it because of the great memories as a kid. Your collection brought that out again! Thank you for reopening the great memories!!!!!! Awesome builds! -

Did not want to bore you with the assembly of the interior. Goes together very well. Their are Micro switches for the brake lights that work and the accelerator pedal that has engine sounds. The seat belts snap in place. And release . Seats move forward. The kit is very fun to assemble. Half way done. Cannot wait for the next set of parts!!!!

The chassis is completed. This car is huge. I need a bigger house. The chassis is on a 1/12 tamiya Ferrari 312b box. Here are pics. Mr Obsessive ,is this why you moved? To store these huge models? I can believe it.

Here is the complete stage two. I was going to prime the chassis red oxide primer but a friendly reminder from my friend Mark that I am supposed to do this out of the box with no mods. After the car is complete. Pictures taken and recorded , I can do what I want with it. So I just did the door jams and the rest is going to be as the kit comes. As soon as the IPMS contests open here on the west coast, I will display the super snake.

Mr Obsessive are you going to prime the under carriage then overspray? I wasn’t going to do it , but just might . Cannot wait for the post on the eagle moss Mercedes. What a cool car.
