Its progressing very nicely Tim. I'm right here in the front row.

I plan on doing something like both of these suggestions, I'm still working out the details. I hope to have it done for Desert Scale Classic in April. My Archer rivet resin decals came in and I'm stoked about putting them to use. Thanks for the replies, suggestions and votes of confidence. This will get done.

Gorgeous stuff Randy, we need to talk. Are you coming to DSC in April?

This is impressive, I mean really impressive. Having done a number of dioramas, I feel a diorama should tell a story and not just be something to look at and admire. I'm a bit late to the party so I apologize if this is too late. How about an older weathered pickup taking a whiskey still into the woods along with the appropriate supplies and it has a flat tire? Maybe it was abandoned there or the driver and passenger are looking off into the distance in different directions watching for the law? How about adding a bird and some bird poo on one of the bridge I beams? I like add a small representation of a living creature, a well hidden squirrel in the leaves gathering nuts for the upcoming winter. It is fall after all. Are you planning on putting insulators on your power poles and running wires?

After displaying this on the Projects table at our latest club meeting, I put this back on my bench. It is just coming along so nicey. Then I remembered why I put it away before. I can't seem to get an interior floorboard inside the cab since the sides of the cab narrow at the bottom. I cut one from cardstock to use as a template and it won't go in without significant bending. Not sure flat styrene stock will bend that much with the seams it needs to contour the top of the Z'ed frame. Besides, I know the top's open but I really don't want to put the whole interior pieces in through the roof. I've thought about cutting open the doors to allow more room to get the floorboard in. Not sure that will help. It still sitting on my bench, staring at me.

You're right of course. I should put an electric guitar in here somewhere.

If you're coming to view, there isn't any admission.

I can hardly fathom this build if I hadn't been watching all along. If I saw it on a contest table and someone said that 99% of this was metal, I would find it hard to believe them without taking a closer look. Tim - this is completely off the charts. As said in a Ford truck commercial..." it doesn't raise the bar, it IS the bar." Extreme Kudos

Great refab on the angled tranny cover Dennis. That seat is so perfect. -
Great, you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

A couple of progress pictures to share. Still working on the ride height and engine angle. Once those have been established, I'll work on the scratch-built front axle.
-
You most certainly are not. Come on Tim, help a fellow out.
-
I've been working on the frame, rear and front axles and need to take some pictures. Stay tuned.

I'd swear this is a 1:1 vehicle, maybe put a coin in the picture every once in a while. The details abound on this Mark. Crazy good!!

Get your builds all done and come join us. This year promises to be better than ever with the championship, swap meet, and camaraderie with fellow builders from across the country. And don't forget the Queso Good food truck who specialize in creating gourmet quesadillas & tacos. You will not want to miss it!!

I hope Jeff doesn't mind me building a replica of his rendering.
-
I sourced this cool rendering from the internet several years ago and I put it up in my hobby room every holiday season. Well, I thought it was so cool that I would do my best to build a model of it including the snowman, smoke and with the fronts lifted slightly. I started on it last week and with the time it takes me to build anything, I might just finish by this Christmas.

Thanks fellas. Still want to add some more to this. I've got a few ideas percolating.

The Shoe never looked better. Great build.

Oh my word!! There isn't anything on this build that isn't a bar raiser in itself. These are absolutely glorious Tim. In my work, which I consider to be detailed, I think it looks great in person and then when I look at photos of it, I see all kinds of flaws and blemishes. That cant be said for any of your work. It is of such precision and execution. Bravo!! Get this thing put together already. :-)
