Building The 1/25 <deleted>...a 72 Nova street car...

You're showing great progress and I commend you for taking on such an endeavor after a long hiatus. If it ain't one thing....its two. -
By jove, I think you've got it this time Dan. That's looking sharp and once cleaned up with a bit of paint, it will be very convincing.

A bit of bench time over the weekend and was able to get the PE seats narrowed, assembled and finished them off with some Alclad. I intended to take more pictures of the assembly but I was on a roll and completely forgot. Now onto the rest of the interior.

They shoot horses, don't they?

Ditto. This was really gearing up nicely and the finish line is finally in view. -
Agreed on both counts. Looking really sharp.

This is a great kit to jump back into the hobby and you certainly did it justice. Great weathering, looks authentic. Can't wait 'til your next one.

Nicely done Dan. I'm sure they'll match judging by the way you're building process.

I wasn't at all happy with the first set of airplane seats since I painted them with spray can metalizer. The paint didn't polish up at all so I put them in the purple pond. Unfortunately the Purple Power reacted with the solder. I've since gotten a replacement set again from Wild Hare Models. These will need to be narrowed like the last set since the cab of the '25 is so small. I'll take some progress pictures as I take this on again. Here's a pic of how they look after being snipped from the brass sprue with one of them bent to shape.

One small step for man, a giant leap for straight line model builders. Keep after it Dan.

I do believe I'm getting callouses on the bottom of my chin from it hitting the floor so many times viewing this thread. I've never understood the fitment issues towards the end of a build when all along everything fit fine. I guess we can all be confused together. You're rounding third and headed for home because you've certainly hit this over the fence and I couldn't be happier for you. I hope to see this with my own eyes one day.

Why is static grass out?

Most excellent diorama builder Ken Hamilton offers ornate railing, fire escapes and other PE stuff that is breathtaking through his website: www.wildharemodels.com.

I have to thank Kit for inspiration for the name of this build. I wanted a script style lettering for this like the old bombers. He called it this in his post and I love it.

Thanks for your interest fellas. I've had to order a new set of PE seats for this because the ones I had didn't like the purple pond so well. I'll try to narrow them a bit better this time because I screwed up on one of them by being too narrow in the front. Certainly enough to be noticeable. I have better cutting discs this time around.

Great save. Nicely executed rendition of a classic straightliner. I finally got one of these kits without mortgaging the house. Planning on getting to it one of these months.

Sodium Glider fantasy Bonneville Streamliner

That is flat out kewl. Flat Earth Society - I love it. -
I like it almost as much as I like tacos. Great job.

Wow!! What a great gift invitation. How about a picture of that one of a kind shirt?

This is still sitting on my bench, begging me to get it finished. I had to change exhausts since the ones I was using had a huge sink hole right in the middle of the four pipes. No way to get in there and sand smoothly. I found a different set from the Ioconio Camaro that work perfectly. They've been shot with Alclad.

Thanks Elvin. If I still had this dio in my possession, I'd still be adding to it. I donated it to a 501(c) 3 for their annual raffle. Might build another one similar to this one in the future.
