  1. Glad to hear you're back to the bench. I heard it calling you from over here. Looking forward to your updates brother.
  2. Looks great Richard. You'll need a cash register so you can take all that money from all of your customers..
  3. Let's wake this thread up again. Here's a pic of my teardrop camper dio before I had the base made.
  4. Richard - there's a fabric product made so you can run it through your printer. It works quite well. I used it on my Mexican blanket in my teardrop dio. I found it at Michael's, a stateside craft store. Hopefully someone over there carries it. And here it is in place. Loving this build of yours. Makes me want to build another dio.
  5. Unfortunately, no I don't.
  6. What?!? I looked all over 'Under Glass' and couldn't find them. You're a funny guy today Danno.
  7. Thanks for the comments Gene, Chris and Russ. I really need to get back to work on this. A few of the posts are missing since the last time I worked on this. I ordered some turned aluminum rims from Jim at MicroNitro since I had an order in with him for rims for my sprint car. The rim have come in an here's a few pictures. This first one is from Jim. The second one shows them in place. I had to switch slicks since the new rims are a bit smaller in diameter. Still need scuffing up. Comments welcome.
  8. As I mentioned before but the post was lost, awesome mini soldering Chris. I need to learn to do this.
  9. This is progressing so nicely. In one of the missing posts, I suggested the possibility of adding a potted plant or two. I did in my dio and it adds a nice subtle touch.
  10. Speaking of graphics, I never showed what the printed decal sheet looks like. There's a few other graphics on the sheet for other builds of mine as well as a few other builders.
  11. Glad you're back to the bench Chris. Nice update and I'm already looking forward to the next one tonight. Hint....hint.
  12. Oh yeah. Is that ever nice. Its just so right.
  13. Man this came out perfect. I know you say it has its issues but I'd be proud to display this. Great move with the changes you made by adding different tires and frame. Makes so much of a difference.
  14. Its so shiny. Looks great. You made the right changes on this.
  15. Nicely done. Painting the inside of the body makes a world of difference.
  16. Yeah...Bill's back and what an update. Looks awesome. This is one of my favorite threads. Welcome back Bill.
  17. A bit more work done on the engine with the bell housing shot with Alclad. So now the bell housing and the tranny are glued on. Finished wiring up the plugs and added a fuel line to the injector distribution block from the rear mounted Reath fuel pump. Just had to put a mock up together for a picture. Here's one of the engine showing the rear mounted fuel pump. It was scratch built and the 'rivets' are actually Scale Hardware rivets that were shortened. Progress continues. Thanks for following along and comments welcome.
  18. Outstanding John. Can't wait to see this in person. You are coming to DSC this spring, right? You must.
  19. It's awesome. So glad I ordered two because I'll find a use for the other one.
  20. Thanks Randy. No...Jeep is still on the workbench but a bit further from the front. Loving your soldering thread to the fullest.
  21. Thanks for your comments Art and Pat. Not much done on the sprinter because I'm waiting on my turned wheels from Jim at MicroNitro before coninuing on the chassis. He's hoping to get them completed tomorrow and I can't wait to see what he comes up with. I also have one of those brass Dirt Modeler seats already assembled and waiting for more bench time. Stay tuned.
  22. All is right with the world, john's back at his bench and putting stuff out like crazy. Outstanding update. With the big engine and small gas tank I'm not sure this would go very far. This isn't a dig on you John, that's how the original looks.
  23. All of these builds are really nice and I dig the subject matter. Thanks for posting.
  24. Thanks Chris. Yes, I'm glad I've been able to get some bench time in and glad I'm getting closer to the finish line. The chassis got its final coat of Tamiya SemiGloss Black this morning before work. Wired up the right side plugs last night although nothing's glued yet. I inserted a piece of black wire insulation in the plug holes in the valve covers then inserted the actual plug wires. Here's a pic of the enhanced engine stand. It was in a couple of pieces when I got it so it needed some strengthening. I used aluminum tubing and also lengthened the tabs that hold the front part of the engine block. Progress continues. Stay tuned. I've got a bunch to get done on this and other started builds for DSC XI in April. I'll be busy.
