Finished a little conversion I started a while back. Started with a couple of MPC Mustang II prostocks, the Midnight Mustang and the Fire Fighter and a bunch of spare parts and ended up with a somewhat decent street car. The body is an the MPC Midnight Mustang that I was sent for parts, After I found out it was correct and the modern kit wasn't I decided to use the old body. Cut the front fenders from the Fire Fighter and grafted them into the rear to make new wells. The interior is from a diecast Pinto that valiantly gave its life. Figured a Pinto was as close as I was gonna get to the right seats. I think I did ok Built up the engine from a revell 32 and shoved it in the bay in the place of the kit mess.

Whats your favorite brand of car?
Rick Schmidt replied to Jared Roach's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm a Ford guy. Gotta have my Stangs. When it comes to work I use my F150. But If it comes to not driving my Fords I'd drive a Chrysler Minivan ..... Yes I said it a Minivan. I had a 92 Voyager for a while and it was one of the most reliable and useful vehicles I had. & passengers 25+ MPG Can't beat it. Guess thats why my wifes ride is an 05 Caravan lol -

Rick Schmidt replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If changing from stock is bad I done messed up years ago. That face in the pic is not the face she was born with. She was born in 82 with a pretty little average Mustang Face. As she got older she got meaner..... Big change from When I got her to now huh ?? but it is the same car and she'll never go back to that old look http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d143/midknightx5/real%20cars/Aug2439.jpg I have grown quite fond of her "facelifted " look I appreciate all ya guys are doin to help I'm looking into all these sites with hopes to learn how to get her back on the road cause I'm sure tired of lookin at her rotting out back. Plus I'm sure my wife appreciates it cause the sooner mine becomes a monster the sooner hers get to come out and play -
Hmmm dunno what my tatus is so out of laziness I'll make a post to see instead of going to look for a thread I recently posted in lol Oooooo I'm Ohana

What's not to love bout this face ?? Hehehe I guess the 87-93s do have more of a following But I love my 4 eye Foxes -
Knowing theres a few Fox body guys on here I figure I'll ask I'd like to find a good active Mustang Forum specifically Fox related if possible. I am starting to try to gather info on sitting an 8 into my 82 and figure the best way to gather said info is to find a community which has a good knowledge base

diesel conversion
Rick Schmidt replied to evilone's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I dunno bout converting it to diesel but the engine in the kit aint fictional ...... Its a Ford 7.5 which is a 460 I believe it's the biggest gas engine in the trucks possibly in the Ford line And a search of pics might show ya just how functional that intake was also -
I Call Her Black Sunshine.........
Rick Schmidt replied to moparmadman829's topic in WIP: Model Cars
From What I've come up with the car is a 77 or 78 with a 74 Front end. Apparently ford moved the gas filler during the run and the location of it on the FF is in the later position Buttttt this is a drag car so who to say the nose aint been changed I like it looks like ya have added quite a bit to this little car -
To create or not to create?
Rick Schmidt replied to Jeff Sauber's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think a non auto sub forum would be a decent idea As was stated if I was to build a ship or plane I wouldn't go join a whole new forum just to show 1. As for that forum change ya can't speak of just please speak enough to tell me we aint gonna be changin the entire site again -
I don't wanna !!! ya can't make me !! .... Huh ??Its already there ?? It's my forum id too ?? Dangit so much for pushin the limit .... Lol seriously tho I don't see it as a problem I have my name in my signature or as the display name everywhere I go. It's not like ya name is top secret info I mean have ya ever looked in a phone book ??

Burn Baby Burn
Rick Schmidt replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If ya look at that little porsche he's done. Possibly by the time the firemen arrived the car was already fully engulfed, or at the point where it is now with only tires burning . With that in mind it could be possible they decided to just let it take its course. I've heard of the firemen around here doing the same with a house. they arrive its fully engulfed, about to self demo itself. They find out no ones in it and let it burn instead of wasting resources on a lost cause -
I gotta agree paint wearing through happens in odd areas for who knows what reason. I know this cause the hood of my pickup is wearing through the red to the white under. Far as I know we don't walk on the hood lol. I think this delivery turned out pretty good tho. It has some nice touches and isn't overdone.

Rick Schmidt replied to stewart's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I opened this thread not knowin what to expect Fast an Furious trucks ?? I was thinkin trucks built like hondas or something. Man was I wrong but I sure did enjoy lookin this over. A lotta hard work going into a pair of unique looking vehicles. You've been doin some great work on them So Much so I'm thinkin I may need to try one -
Great looking build. With a little work this can be a nice kit. As was said I'm glad to see you took the advice to lower it a bit Made a world of difference. 1 question is she silver or gold ??

need some help with my new foxbody
Rick Schmidt replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dunno that as it sits if I even have 1000 into my 82 now maybe pushing 1100. I got the car for 800 in 2000 over the years I messed with it 500 for the 93 that was tweeked from a bad repair from a wreck ( boy that 93 was fun to do donuts and burnouts in ) gave 150 for an 80? ( ? cause even the guy I bought if from didn't know lol ) Took the interior and doors from the 93 Sold the shell to a roundy rounder and sold the rest of the parts to random folks I seen riding in mustangs needing them lol Chased many a Stang around to catch the guy to offer a tail light or mirror to Never once got turned away. Made near my 500 back on the 93. Found the 80? got intouch with its owner and was told he'd deliver its carcass to my house for 150. Stripped off the pace car nose and hatch kept a few interior parts Sold the doors for 100 and scrapped the rest. Now the car needs a motor. Gonna hunt down a 70s land yacht and cannablize it too for the v8. Can probably find said yacht for a 1000 to 1500 steal its drive line and again sell parts hehe make some back. It doesn't have to be expensive to build one of these just gotta find the right deals -
need some help with my new foxbody
Rick Schmidt replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Whoa that red interior took me back 10 years to the first time I seen my 82. Looked just like that ...... Took care of that problem by putting in a black 93 LX interior from the doors back but still have the stock dash and console. Ya got 14 years and a few styles of car to choose from so if ya don't like something about it find one with one stuff ya do and swap it. Mine has 93 Doors also cause I was planning to add more Speakers than just the dinky in dashes hehe Also now have spots for two rears in the sides due to the later interior as my car was equiped with Dash Speakers and and Amp for a single rear speaker -

Rick Schmidt replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welcome to the 4 eye club hehe. Another easy cheap way to find parts for these is hunt out race car drivers. These cars are used a lot for dirt track racing and a lot of guys just want the body leaving the rest for scrap. Got quite a few parts for mine that way including the pace car nose my 82 has on it
