Chat Room Participation Problem(?)
Rick Schmidt replied to ZTony8's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Chat is not addictive .....I can leave chat anytime I wanna ..... I just don't wanna lol What they said above is right too I switched to the Comfy skin and it solved all my issues with posting and using chat via AOL. -
I Could Not Sign-In
Rick Schmidt replied to RichCostello's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gregg is a good guy. My dealing with him wasn't as serious as not bein able to get in, more of a want I had. I asked him about changing my user name here from Midknightx5 to my real name. No questions asked he took care of it for me even sent a personal email saying he had done so for me even tho the forum would tell me too. It's the treatment and personal touch that makes me enjoy this forum like I do. -

Rick Schmidt replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Guys, hold on a second. Before we start rippin the board apart about this lets wait til we hear from the big dog himself. All kinda hoopin an hollerin over something that could just be a glitch at the moment. It happens things mess up. No sense gettin mad about a rumor -
Interior looks very authentic. Reminds me of my 1/1 82s stock interior. it was Red too but had fake woodgrain where yours is black. Took car of that tho lol all black now lol. Your 1/1 Fox is nice looking. Is it a V8 Car ?? I see what look like the 5.0 on the fenders but can't tell for sure.

I had thought about the CV lower myself never tried it tho

Opinions wanted on screen name
Rick Schmidt replied to oldscool's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I say use the same name you use everywhere else, or a slight variation of it if it isn't available. I use midknightx5 everywhere so you know who it is from forum to forum. Only places midknightx5 doesn't show up are forums that allow a different name to show and on those I use my real name -
Looking good. The trim was a 4 eyes trim glad you caught that and fixed it I can also see the battery in your pics Like Eric says it's on the wrong side. I'd suggest buying you the 93 Cobra kit as a Donor that would net you your LX tails and a correct looking underhood area plus any other fox parts you may need. Interior chassis motor and such
-
Nick I'm glad ya posted up better pics so's we can see it better now. It's a very nice built one too Add the plates and there will be no doubt thats the Bandits car. Now when ya gonna build Snowmans rig ??
-
Thanks guys Randy yea we'll run lol but Mine is all stock lol Yours looks good by the way Lee, not sure about Randys but mine is all factory colored. No idea what color it is Kasey Molded color on mine. far as I could tell no paint as even the melted areas from when the assembled it are the same color All I did was put the black on the Windows the grille area in between the parking lights and add the parking lights. Took me a bit to decide on the black area as some in pics had it others didn't I also redid the interior to as close as I could tell a grey/ black interior should be

Thanks Guys I'm quite happy with the car myself gotta go thank my wife for trashing the first one, which caused me to start getting more of these lol
-
Thanks guys Dave Good to see ya back And I see I'm not the only one who thought the Impala light bar looked like the ones in the movie. David I built it using pics online of "Replicas " and the 2nd and 3rd movie Which I believe did not have the push bar. Think the push bar was in the first movie. It's not an exact model it is just a close look alike. It has a 91 dash I remember reading the movie cars were all 88s It's also running the hubcaps from the kit because I didn't have any good steelies to put on it. I know the later ones ran steels again can't remember the 1st. Car was built really only to save what was left of a good kit Kasey Thanks. Be looking for another I still have another to build a 91 SHO lol Just in case anyone cares here was this car before its Accident with Engine Enamel And the first failed Redo that failure prompted me to buy the Robo kit and use it to build the Stock 89 in my other post then use the paint damaged parts to build this car.
-
Built this one from the leftovers of the original issue 89 SHO kit I had and the decals Wheels and dash from the Robocop issue. Made a roof mount spotlight from a mirror and shifter and used the light bar from the 05 Impala kit and an unknown push bar look out the Law is here
-
Finally got me an 89 SHO built after years of having a wreck from the last one I did. Sprayed it in One Coat Diamond Dust and built it from a mix of my original 89 and a Robo Cop 91. The front end in the 91 was lowered already but the back end still st too high so thats really the only change.

Didn't do much here but take a promo do up the trim on it lower it a bit and call it good

Fotki members and viewers?
Rick Schmidt replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I prefer to set mine up and view an album where each build has its own folder. I have linked to folders where everything is just dumped in and I leave. I don't even waste my time trying to find Car X in a sea of 500 pics. I learned to do my builds that way too not only does it make it easier to look through, it makes it easy to find and show my Car X because I have it in a folder named Car X -
Just thought about it but there are a very similar set in the Revell Turbo Cobra I dug out my set ut they are ruined. They are black with a yellow outline
-
Yea Chassis are virtually identical I think the chassis in the newer 93 is about all that's is left of our Cafe Racers lol. Everything else is different. the 93s parts do fit into the 81 tho One of my Cafe Racers is an original built up that I've stripped and reworking into my 82 which has a 93 interior in it fit right in. I agree about the 92 vert also virtually the body is only difference between the two. Stole that steering wheel for my 82 also lol I'll be looking in to see the progress on yours good to see someone else doin one of these and like I was told good to see one without the v8 lol
-
Yea it is a fun little kit. I had more fun building the box stock one I did than I did some of the others I've done. Wonder if stuff to do it still exists? or is it long gone due to the other variants of Fox Mustang that have come since ??

Must be gettin the same great model buildin weather we are Cold to make ya not feel like gettin moving wet to ruin any chances of painting
