Looks very nice! I love it that you kept the flathead under that supercharger. Nice paint!
  3. Very nice! Love the patina and accessories all around, under and over including the cool surfboard and tie down rope. Really love the flathead engine too!
  4. Thanks Bob for the information about missing parts. I just purchased the Boomer T. Hope mine turns out close to as good as yours.
  5. If you look around at swap meets some of the different year bodys can still be found. I think a lot of collectors over look these AMT bodys because they all pretty much look the same. I would like to have a full collection of the convertibles as well. I always forget about the after market parts available but, I'm kind of cheap that way anyway I know they make some neat Corvette parts. My models just sit on the shelfs and no one ever looks too close at them but, I know they are there.
  6. Yes I do like it! It looks perfect in every way. I love your photos also.
  7. Yes the '66 is different from the '65. It has no vents on the side of the top, an egg shell grill, different seats, different side and rear badges and of course different hub caps, which is important to me. Most people like to use custom wheels but, to me the hub caps are what helps identify the model year. Originally I had custom wheels on all my old ones. I even had the rear wheels radiused on the '66 for big slicks. I had frenched tail lights on the '65, that's 3 on each side. I restored them years ago with a set of new quarters and filling the light holes. Lucky I saved all the hub caps. You can't see the hub caps real well in these photos but, it's the best I have right now.
  8. You should be happy, that is gorgeous!
  9. Thanks Snake, That's about all my guilty pleasure kits for now. The only other I can think of is collecting way too many unbuilt kits. I have multiples of many of them. I just hope time doesn't run out for me to finish them all. Thanks for starting this thread, I hope others continue to contribute to this.
  10. The photos are not so great but, here are a couple more showing the terrible tail lights and the simple chassis on the AMT kits.
  11. Another of my guilty pleasures has been collecting all the AMT Corvette Stingrays from '63 to '67. Even though the Revell kits are much better I still prefer the AMT originals. I got my first in 1963 as a 13 year old kid. I remember the opening lights on the convertible never repeated again. Every year I would buy the new model untill 1967. I guess at 17 I was more interested in 1:1 cars. Misteriously I did buy a '68 model. I craved the original AMT '67 most of my adult life and finally found a coupe body in someone's junk pile for $1 back in the '80s. Last year I spotted an unbuilt AMT '67 for $135, too much for me so, I instead bought a terribly built $25 '67 convertible for parts and managed to finally get the '67 of my dreams. I should have went for the $135 offering. Anyway here they are in all their glory.
  12. Nice collection Don! I love the 15 cent bottle of Testors. That first roadster has to be from the same kit as mine. I like your version better.
  13. Here's another one of those some what funky kits that I have grown to love. I don't remember what it was called. I do remember it had a big plastic gear for the rear axle and a small one to put on an electric motor with plenty of room under seats for instalation.
  14. I love the box art cars you guys do! Also cars like the Green Hornet and Black Widow. They weren't engineered that great to begin with but, have a certain kind of appeal hard to describe.
  15. I hardly ever listen to music. Never in the car, I don't drive much anymore since I am retired and I like to listen to the sounds the car makes. I turn on the TV occasionally to sirius radio 1950's music while I paint. I am totally out of it when it comes to music. I don't even know the names of artists anymore. Sometimes quiet is nice.
  16. I was never a big fan of this kit but, you are making it look really good. The two-tone really works and the engine is looks great also. Nice choice of wheels too. Can't wait to see the rest, keep it going Niko!
  17. Welcome, glad to see you here Mark.
  18. I put this Buick Nailhead in a T, I think it was from the AMT '40 Ford sedan. The coupe I think came with an Olds engine.
  19. Sign me up for a '58 Ford! Very cool!
  20. Totally awesome, I love it in every way possible. I also picked one up a while back, missing windshield frame and decals. I plan on displaying mine next to the 1/8 scale version I am working on. This is one of my favorites. I will make room for two 1/8 scale models, the Big T and the Big Deuce.

    '55 Nomad

Congrats on finishing another shiny one. It just looks like you bumped into something, it should pull out. Nice job Jim, I have yet to do one of these and I love '55s.
  22. You nailed it!!! And for the rest of the story not shown in the mag, the BBQ! Very good!
  23. The AMT '32 Coupe and Roadster had the single exhaust molded into the chassis, with a nearly exact second exhaust setup to glue in, for dual exhaust as well as the '36 Ford and '40 Fords. The '49 had seperate exhaust.
  24. Too funny!!!! I don't even mind the molded in axels and exhaust, a little fun detail painting where no one ever looks. I will admit, I thought it was a major break through when AMT first introduced the Vicky with it's seperate rear axel and exhaust.
