Thanks to all you other guys for all the kind words. This was a fun stress free build the way it should be. I am really enjoying the hobby and the great people on this Forum from all over the world. Thanks to Gregg and all the Moderators.

What service? That was my first thought. lol Thanks guys. I was part of a miss guided generation, from our fearless leader Richard Nixon on down. My hero now is Uncle Si on Duck Dynasty, I feel like I served with him. I can relate to the snakes and reptiles in Louisania since that's where I got my Infantry training. My Wife and I are catching up on the past seasons after just recently discovering the show. I might be a Redneck. Redneck logic: Just Blow It Up.

No problem for me really, I have a single action Paasche with only two pieces to clean, very easy with just water or window cleaner. I'm finding these paints very friendly and easy to use. If you have ever worked with water colors, that's what it kind of reminds me of.

Nice job again Jim, I love your shiny paint! -
Thanks Neal, Yes I did spray it through my airbrush after it was thinned with a few drops of water. Very easy to use and easy clean up. Also it drys very fast and process can be accelerated with a hair dryer.

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention the paints I used. These are Anita's all purpose Acrylics purchased from Hobby Lobby for 30 cents a bottle on sale. I custom mixed the blue color to match my photo as close as I could. They are very easy to use and I am happy with the result so far after painting two models. I spray Testors clear or dullcoat over at the end. A small amount can be squeezed from the bottle on to a brush for small parts. I used my airbrush for the body. Best part is easy clean up with water. Any questions please ask. Oh yeah, and no primer was used.

Which is the best photo hosting site?

Another vote for Photobucket. I tried Fotki when I first joined here in 2011. I had trouble but, it was probably just me. It took me a few tries even with Photobucket before I got the hang of it, not sure if I really do have it but, what ever works for you. Looking forward to seeing your posts. -
Chassis with a little weathering.Plenty of rust but, easily repaired.I did reward myself with this one later in life. Thanks for looking, please leave comments.

This is the way most '55 Chevy daily drivers looked in the snow belt in 1969. This was mine I purchased for $300 with the intentions of building a Drag Car. I had been tearing up my new at the time, '69 Nova at the local Drag Strip and decided it was time to build a car just for this purpose. Little did I know Uncle Sam had different plans for me. Almost exactly 30 days after this purchase I entered the US Army. The Nova was sold but, this car sadly was parked by my Mom's garage for 2 years. I had just started to work on it removing the bumpers to find a big surprise, more rust. I started with this kit. This was what I wound up with after 3 days.

Thanks guys, stay tuned I've just completed another '55 I owned. This one only took 3 days as opposed to the over 16 year build. As soon as I can get some decent pictures it will be posted Under Glass.

Thanks everyone for the overwelming response. Every time I look at the photos I see something else wrong, I've yet to build the perfect model. Over all I am happy to complete this one after well over 16 years I believe. As a side note; I bought 4 of them in CALIFORNIA when the first issue came out in '89, I flew home on a plane with them as a carry-on, I didn't think they would ever be available here. lol

Thanks guys. Mike, I did leave some trim pieces off the way I always wanted it. I just didn't want to leave little holes in the full sized car. I actually always prefered the 110 model with even less trim. A lot of those ended up at the drag strip with the bonus of less weight. I never was one for a lot of excessive trim on cars. Notice the pieces of trim on the rockers also, they always reminded me of lake pipes.

More pictures. The chassis was lef a litte cleaner than normal for me.Hard to get in there with the camera, I didn't want to risk cracking the paint on the hood by removing it.Thanks for looking, please leave comments.

This is a car I owned from 1986 to 1998. I sold it for $8,500 to a guy that begged me for over 2 years. My mistake. The best I can do now is have it in 1/25 scale. It has been on the rack since before 1998 when I started it. After making all the mods to turn it into a 210 from an AMT Bel Air, I sprayed it with Dupli- Color Lacquer DAL1677 Gloss Black.Fast forward to 2014. The interior was changed to simulate the classic Del Ray interior. Hubcaps were taken from Revell '56 and engine from AMT '53 Corvette with some modifications like manual trans.I took the liberty to leave the trim off in some places the way I always wanted it. The guy I bought it from had just put these pieces on before I got it along with fender skirts.

I like the look Dave. How did you get the decals to lay down so well on the primer/rust? I don't see a trace of decal lines, is this hand painted pin striping? I like the top up look and the seats also. Nice job! -
World Of Wheels

I went to this event the last two years and found pretty much the same cars on display, so decided to skip a year. There were discounts offered at Oreillys auto parts stores, saving about $5 at the door. A model car show was put on by one guy from Cinnanatti. Also one vender selling plastic models and diecast. Kind of pitiful really when you consider the big model show and vendor area put on by a local club a few years back. I wish they would come back. -
The AMT '32 Fords are still among my favorites.

This is a link to ours on facebook in Muncie, Indiana. Our club had it's meeting there until it was disband. He has come down on prices as of late but, no discounts. I am waiting on the weather to break here to go out. https://www.facebook.com/search/str/toys%20forever%20models%20%26%20hobbies/places-named -

She was truly the love of his life, stuck with him through thick and thin. It is a great story if you haven't read it I would highly recommend it to anyone. R.I.P. Pat.
