GOTTA LOVE THOSE GUYS AT ROUND 2 -
Tommy....Excellent build, I too like Gary. My future plans include Gary's "Batmobile" modified. Got the body kit from Big Donkey resins and decals from Polecat. Both are excellent products. Where did you get the wheels from and would you be interested in selling me a set of the decals?? Thanks and keep up the great work. Vernon

check ebay once in a while. Lindberg made one several years ago, and they still pop up there at resonable prices. Good luck, Vernon

Juan....Thank you very much, this is a tremendous help. As I mentioned I'm somewhat new to building these cars but got a very good deal on several Hasegawa kits. While they are not quite as detailed as the Tamiya kits, they are very fun to build and look very impressive on the shelf. Once again thanks for your help. By the way if those are your kits in photos they look very sharp. Happy modeling, Vernon

Help....While I'm not new to modeling (40 years plus), I am new to these road race cars. I picked up a few of the Hasegawa Merecedes C9 kits and I'm confused on what color the car should be. While the instructions say to paint the body blue, all the pictures I've found so far appear to be a dull black. Can anyone help me with this. THanks, Vernon Forgive my ignorance of these cars, I've always loved watching them but have stayed more towards older NASCAR, Drag race & Indy car kits.

John...Thanks for the decal info, I'll have to search for one of the kits.....KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! Vernon

Nice looking build John...It's nice to see one of these in the forum. I picked a few of the Hasegawa kits recently as I needed a break from the usual builds. I'm currently working on a Mercedes C9, and have enjoyed working on it very much. While they are some-what simple kits to build, they are loaded with detail. I've purchased several different Hasegawa road race kits now and I'm having a blast building them. One last thing John, where did you get Jagermeister decals from? Happy modeling, Vernon

Great job Chuck....I had this kit when I was kid and was able to get one off ebay a while back. I forgot how hoakie these kits were until it arrived. After seeing the changes you made in the body, you've got me thinking about pulling mine out of the closet and working on it. I never thought of trying the MPC chassis under but looks like a good fit. Thanks for resparking my interest in the kit. Happy modeling, Vernon -
Killer job!!! with your building skills, Chucks decals & Gregs resin body, this is defintley a contest winner. Keep up the great work! Happy modeling, Vernon

Just got my steel Hollman-Moody style NASCAR wheels last night and they look excellent. I don't have a picture to post but if you go ebay type in NASCAR resin or Petty Charger, go to toys & hobbies and then to models, that will take you right to them. They are a very clean casting and nicely detailed. At $11.00 plus S&H, they are well worth the money. These will be perfect for the 1969 Charger or Daytona and will work for many of the early 1970's NASCAR teams. Happy modeling, Vernon

Sweet, Lets grab the keys and go for a spin....Realy nice job Michael! Happy modeling, Vernon

Just found 1/16th scale steel wheels (ideal for this kit) on e-bay @ $11.00 a set plus shipping. I ordered a couple sets yesterday and will let everyone know how they look as soon as they arrive. If you go to ebay, type NASCAR resin in the brouse box and to toys & hobbies then to model kits. From the picture posted on ebay the look pretty darn good! Happy modeling, Vernon

Try "Mikes Scale Speedshop", He still shows 2 Fusion bodies in stock at $35.00, Kit includes an updated 2011-2012 nose clip and rear spoiler. Mike is a great guy to buy from and always ships fast. Good luck!!! Happy modeling, Vernon

Tom...Great looking model, I've always loved the Revell ASA cars. This car looks fast just sitting there, Keep up the great work!!!!! Maybe Revell should consider reissuing the ASA cars, they seem to bring a fairly good price on e-bay, so it looks like the demand is still there. Happy modeling, Vernon

Hey guys, Please don't misunderstand me, I too love the kit and appreciate the model companies reissuing these great old kits. The changes I made were done to improve on already great product. I had these kits as a kid an enjoy being able to build them all over again, hopefully as a better modeler. I too thank alll the model companies for the reissues over the last several years, and look forward to more in the future. Happy modeling, Vernon

I'm currently working on this car along with a couple other projects. My goal on this project was to build it somewhat box stock. I never realy cared for the body in this kit, but found if you work with it a little you can make it a bit more acceptable. I'll try to post pictures from home one evening this week. I sanded the sharp angle off the the top of the rear roof area to give it a smoother look. Then moved to the front fenders. To me the top of the front fenders look a bit to high, so I started sanding that area down to make it look a little sleaker. There is quite a bit of plastic in this area, but still work slowly to get the right look and not cut through the plastic. The windshield appears to be a little narrow & low, so I filled in the molding lines around the windshield and began to sand the a-pillars a little, I also increased the windshield height just a touch. You've got to be carefull here as you still want to be able to put the kit windshield in. Of course you can get a little more radical and make your own windshield. These are very minor tips and probably not noticed by everyone, but I know they have been done and look pretty good to me. I 'm was happy to see some info on the front axle here as I have only cleaned up the mold lines and stripped some of the chrome for the rest of the kit. I do love the rear slicks in this kit and have bought a couple more just for the slicks. Overall I'm pretty happy with the kit, even though it's a little more of project than I planned on. It's still nice to Round 2 reissuing these great old kits. Vernon
