IH Cargostar Cab - 3D Printed
Jim B replied to Casey's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I might take a 2-story Falcon, too; if the price was right. Wonder if the front logo could be "Diesel" or "Super Duty". Heck, I might just be happy with the logo! -

That's pretty cool. Looks a little like a Ford Model AA. -
1930's-40's Ford Commercial Wheels

I'm guessing that these would be too small for a 1950 Ford F8? -
That is the daunting part.

1/25 AMT Kenworth/Challenge Transit Mixer
Jim B replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Would the torsion bar suspension actually handle a mixer body? I thought it was a light weight suspension. -
Interesting. From the fact they are being pulled by Kenworths with long frames, I'd say they were from out West. Do you think they could be Brown trailers?

Thanks, KJ. That is a good starting point. Looks possibly doable.

USFS 1941 Chevrolet AK Pickup

While were on the subject of the 1941 Chevrolet, would anyone happen to have a spare front license plate bracket from this kit (P/N 23)? I need a second one, and I'd like it to match the other one. Thanks! -
Hypothetical question: is it possible to convert the 1970s era AMT Fruehauf van trailer into a 1950s era trailer? Reason I ask is that one of my future builds will be a 1950 Ford F8 tractor, and I'd like something "period correct" to put behind it.

Freightliner Cabover with a Detroit
Jim B replied to TheSDTrucker's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Forgot about AITM. I have purchased 2-hole & 5-hole wheels from him in the past. They are quite nice. -
Those rain caps loom fantastic! Very well done.

You can check with Gary Wallace of GW Trucks (gwtrucks@yahoo.com). He may have some. He doesn't have a Website, but email him that photo; and he might be able to hook you up. Also, KJ at Double Take Replicas might have them as well. -

This should be a cool project. I like the photos of your inspiration truck (nice Kawasaki in the background, too). Model kits are meant to be built, at least that's my take on it. -

Thanks. I just swapped the kit engine for a Flathead V8 from another modeler. Gave him the wheels & tires, too. -

And color photography in the 1970s wasn't all that great, either. I've seen photos of the same aircraft that you'd sware that they were different aircraft because of the color differences in the photographs.- 114 replies

Maybe it's just me, but I find the Dupli-Color Detroit Diesel Alpine Green too dark for the older engines.- 114 replies
