  1. No, the black is Dupli-Color Gloss Black with a Dupli-Color Gloss Clear Coat. The metallic effect is due to either my poor painting abilities or by photographic skills (or lack there of).
  2. Just so you guys don't think I've been a total slacker, here are some pics of my latest creation. This started life as the 1991 issue of the Monogram Kenworth Aerodyne (the orange one). What I've done so far is replaced the Caterpillar 3406A with a Cummins NTC350 Big Cam III. (Can I call it a Big Cam III even if it only vaguely resembles one?) Still need to add the AC pump, and figure out the air intake. Painted it gloss black with a semi-gloss black chassis. I have added KFS P/E logos to the hood, and they will go on the sleeper as well. KFS P/E stacks will replace the kit stacks. Lots more to do.
  3. Ok, now that we know what it is, who's going to build one?
  4. Ryan, nice looking KW. Looks good as a daycab. Yes, I agree, a low-bow would look good behind it. Matthew, nice rack!
  5. There were some nice looking trucks there. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Will this help: Car Model March 1973?
  7. Save your nickles! Apparently it's not going to be an inexpensive kit. I've heard MSRP $95 US. I REALLY hope I'm wrong.
  8. They have a lot of nice articles on that site, and they're relitively inexpensive. And Sergey's article is 5% off.
  9. Very nice, Sergey. Very nice indeed.
  10. Great job on that Paystar! It looks very realistic. Fantastic detailing. Good luck at NNL east this weekend.
  11. I've seen some of those here in Central New York. Looks pretty cool.
  12. Looking good, Ryan! I like the orange; nice color. What did you end up doing for the day-cab panel?
  13. It does sound easy. How big do you make the window, and where do you put it? Is the back of the Kenworth cab smooth, or does it have indentations?
  14. How about this one? Auslowe W-900 Day Cab Panel If you do get it, let me know how it works. I might need one in the future. Your best bet is to email Chris. He usually has more stuff in stock than listed on his Web site. And if it's not in stock, he'll know to put in on his next order from KFS, Auslowe, Mo'Luminum, or where ever.
  15. Do you mean this one: Pacific P-10? That thing looks like a real beast! Too bad it's out of production.
  16. Nice detail on the trailer. They wood looks slightly used. Where did you get the tank? I've been looking for a "reasonably priced" T-34 in 1/25.
  17. Porky at P&P Vintage Kits & Resin is planning on a 1/25 Peterbilt 379-127 conversion. Not sure when it will be ready, but that's an option, too. Here's the link to the thread: Peterbilt 379-127 Conversion
  18. I might have the hubs. I'll have to look this evening. I know I don't have the brake drums.
  19. This might help: Detailing a 6-71N Part #1 This too: Detailing a 6-71N Part #2
  20. Some of the ones I've seen have been heavily modified into Australian SARs or scavenged for parts for "Smokey & the Bandit" W900s (it's the correct cab). I have a couple on my "stash", but I won't be building them for a while. Ok, that doesn't really help, I know.
  21. The good thing (or bad depending on how you look at it) is the Kenworth T900 Australia kit is basicaly a US W900 with some Australian looking parts thrown in the box. I asked over ao Tony's Australian truck forum on making this kit into in Australian truck, and I got a list of about 20 things that needed to change from the hood to the tail lights & everything in between.
  22. I remember them unloading watermellons from trucks that way in East Texas back in the early 1970s. Very cool to watch (sorry, no pics). Definately don't leave you coffee cup un the dash! Or anything else loose, for that matter.
  23. No, sorry, I don't. But i would guess that anyn of the AMT Silverado kits would do as you're just going to take the cab & interior from it.
