Last one for 2024, finished it too on the 30th of Dec, overall, decent kit, and I feel like it could of turned out better, I was rushing to get it finished, only had a few issues , and those were mainly with the rear hatch/engine cover/window, I just had issues getting them all in the place, the engine cover kept coming lose, switch glues and the there is basically no room between where it sits and the rear windows so the rear windows got messed up a bit. Paint is AlClad Stainless Steel over Tamiya LP Black, it was a lot more shiny, but too much handling dulled it, I don't have any clears I can use over these types of paint, I tried to keep the handling to a minimum and wear cotton gloves. My only gripe with the kit, I wish Aoshima would have included overlay decals for the taillights, I ended up using a sharpie to get that part black, eggcrate I guess it would be called?

martinfan5 replied to Bill Eh?'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I didnt mention the movies in my build review video I did for it, and I didnt mention the movies at all in the unboxing video for it in September, does that make you feel a bit better now? Edit, I did mention it one time, but it was saying the chassis plate was the as the movie version of the kit and not stock. -
One of the wholesalers list it at $37.99

You can adjust the percentage of those random events and detours to even completely turn them off , I have them set really low, pro tip, most of the detours you can drive thru the accident without issues.

The BTTF version would be an instant buy for me, hoping Aoshima's love affair with the movies will motivate them to do it. -

Upcoming Aoshima Pickup Releases

Very happy to see all these getting done, figures, I kit bashed several Hilux kits a few years ago to make a stock long bed US version . I am going assume the LHD parts will be included since its being done as the USDM version and they just used the RHD for the show display. Happy to see them finally doing stock-ish version of the two low riders kits. -

Porsche 911 RSR by Tamiya on Scalemates?

On display at All Japan Hobby show -
Mostly built out of the box, paint is Tamiya LP white and Black, modified the push bar to make it closer to CHP style, added the LED light heads on the sides/middle bar, made a gun rack, added a 3D printed antenna puck, used the wheels and tires from the Lindberg Dodge Charger.

Mostly and out of box build, Paint is Dodge Silver from Scalefinishes, I used a diecast Federal signal Valor lightbar ( what DPS uses) I made a base for it as the one that it comes with is too big, toy like. I added a radar unit, swapped the siren speaker for one that is closer to what DPS runs, decals were not best, laser printed from a local police car enthusiast photographer. I also added a 3D printed antenna puck on the roof.

That is just beautiful Bob, enjoyed getting to see it again. I can not wait to get started on mine , just waiting for it to cool down a bit before I resume building from the "summer its to freaking hot to be painting in the garage break" I am currently on.
