  1. Haven't been able to get in since they changed so I've given up on them.
  2. I honestly don't know Izzy. Why not email him and see what you get for a reply?
  3. Great job! I've got both Johan Mercedes to build someday. My real "problem" with them is finding a suitable paint scheme.
  4. How's $5 a gallon sound? Last I checked, it's $1.35/liter so multiply that by 3.68 (liters in an American gallon) for a total of $4.96. I'm dang glad my Civic is rated at 50 mpg. It recently returned 47 miles per Imperial gallon or 40 miles per American gallon.
  5. Due to recent interest in the classic cars, I have at least one of all of the kits mentioned by you. I haven't built any of them yet but for the most part, the bodys are ready for paint. Now I have built Johan's '31 Cadillac V-16 Sport Phaeton which is a VERY nice kit. Also built is Monogram's Packard Boattail Speedster. LOVE it! Recently finished is Monogram's '34 Duesenberg SJ Torpedo Phaeton by Weymann. Pretty car but you can tell that the Duesenberg was Monogram's first go at kitting a classic car. They learned from it and as such, the Packard is a much easier kit to build. If you require, I can post pics. of my three completed classics.
  6. Has anyone used/seen one in action? Basically, I'm looking to find out how sophisticated the flasher unit is. Does it flash half the lights at once (hopefully not)?
  7. Thank You Izzy! That means a lot coming from you. I used a Mint diecast as my basis for this paint scheme. A pale yellow over maroon on a Packard became this.
  8. Monogram's old kit painted '65 Chevy Butternut Yellow over Tamiya Sprays Maroon. The interior colours are custom mixed Tamiya acyrlics.
  9. No MassCar for me. Classic Plastic is another story.
  10. Most impressive George. Most impressive indeed!
  11. Is there anyone in the aftermarket supplying police cat stuff (grille lights, deck lights, lightbars, radar units, etc) anymore? I've got the itch to do a more detailed police car but I don't have the skill or the spares anymore to do so.
  12. You ain't the only one. FYI, there's more been to added to the pile/list including but not limited to Heller's Bentley Blower.
  13. 1:1 car shows, the internet, etc..
  14. This one is so new to the shop that it's still on the flatbed. Johan's '34 Mercedes Benz Coupe
  15. Because you asked so nicely, I'll share. The Delage is going to be Tamiya Sprays Lavender over Black. That should turn a few heads.
  16. Lindberg's '29 Mercedes Benz SSK roadster.
  17. Heller's '31 Delage D.8SS body by Fernandez & Darin. Paint scheme has been decided but I'm not telling yet. Italeri's '36 MB 540K cabriolet. My references say it's closer to a 500K though. I just had to have an opening hood on this one.
  18. Monogram's '41 Lincoln in Tamiya sprays French Blue. It will have a dark blue convertible top and it's based on a pic. from a 1:1 car magazine (Automobile magazine IIRC).
  19. Monogram's '34 Duesenberg J Town Car by Murphy. J conversion is a long out of production All American Models piece. Colour scheme undecided. Monogram '34 Duesenberg SJ Convertible Coupe by Rollston. This is a short wheelbase conversion done by me. Paint will prolly be racing white over green fenders. Monogram '34 Duesenberg SJ Torpedo Phaeton by Weymann Legrande. Paint is Chevy Butternut Yellow over Tamiya sprays Maroon. I was inspired to copy this scheme after seeing it on a Franklin Mint Packard.
  20. Monogram's '31 Rolls Royce Phaeton. Silver over Burgandy. This one is a current paint shop project and looks much better now than it did when this pics. was taken. Italeri's '33 Cadillac Model 452C V16 Fleetwood All Weather Phaeton. A replica of the Al Jolson car. Italeri multi piece bodies can be challenging to say the least.
  21. Monogram's Packard Speedster Phaeton. Gunship grey body over a red chassis/under sides of the fenders. Italeri's Chrysler Imperial LeBaron Dual Cowl Phaeton in ivory over brown with orange trim and wheels.
  22. I don't have pics. of all my classic car projects at this time but I thought you all might like to see what I have planned. Monogram's '27 Bugatti Type 35B in Tamiya sprays French Blue. This one is working it's way through the paint shop. Heller's Bugatti Type 50 coupe in Tamiya sprays red over black. This one is ready to build.
  23. I don't much care what people say or think about me when it comes to my hobby. So I'm a "rivet counter". So what? However, please don't refer to me as a frenchman in any way, shape or form. I am an anglophone living in french Canada and that doesn't go over with me. I'm not saying french Canadians are bad just different. I've said my piece. As for the model, it's going back into the box at this point. It is going to get stripped of it's paint and be re-painted. However, that will take time and in roughly a week's time, I'm leaving here for sunny Florida for three weeks. Hopefully, we'll pick up this build in early March and continue from there.
  24. Oh. So now we're Rivet Counters? Fine by me.
