  1. I like it, I like it!
  2. Just remember that Jairus is an ARTIST not a spell checker.
  3. Nail polish remover. It's what I used to remove the tampo graphics on the Monogram Pro-Finish Winston Cup cars.
  4. First off, Welcome back! I'll tackle #1 as I've never had a problem getting a smooth coat of brush paint. That may be due to the fact that I prefer Tamiya acyrlics for brush work. Back to #1. What you need to do is learn how to make and use a wash. A wash is basically, very thin paint. It can be any colour cut with lots and lots of thinner. In my case, seeing as I use acyrlics, that means I thin my brush paints with water. If you wanna take the easy way out, go grab a bottle of Tamiya X19 (I think) Smoke. It's basically a wash as it's a very watery colour. HTH,
  5. FWIW, I think Harry's using the wrong terminology for these quizzes. There's no question it's real. It's a question of SCALE.
  6. This is just too cool George!
  7. Nice job Izzy! I've got a trio of 1/72 airplanes stalled at the moment (F4U-1A "Birdcage" Corsair, F-82G Twin Mustang night fighter and a F7F-3 Tigercat). I'm hoping to finish something soon.
  8. Since this thread began, I have traded cars. My mostly faithful '00 Focus SE Sport wagon has gone and has been replaced with this: A '07 Civic LX in Fiji Blue A look through the steering wheel at the two level dash.
  9. You can try it but I wouldn't be on it. BTW, I do suggest that you try the Canadian importer/distributor (Borgfeldt). I know they did do replacement parts for a Revell Germany airplane that I built years ago. Borgfeldt is on the web. http://www.borgfeldt.ca/
  10. Tamiya USA does do replacement parts IIRC. I don't know if they charge. Seeing as I live in Canada, I have to deal with the Canadian importer and I've never had to do so.
  11. Yeah. Classic Plastic has their annual event on October 14 at the Elks Hall in Lawrence, Mass.. http://classicplastic.org/ Mass Car has one in southern Mass. but I'm not certain of the date off hand. http://www.masscar.com/ If you don't mind a bit longer drive, there's one in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on November 4. I'm planning on Classic Plastic despite the four hour drive from here to there.
  12. I wouldn't tailgate ANYTHING at 80 but Rain X does work. Windshield wipers are basically optional.
  13. Testors Clear Parts Cement.
  14. I don't have one YET but I'm under the impression that the box art model builders are listed right on the box. I know it worked that way on the Ford Bronco/Mercury Cougar set.
  15. I've been buying from Dennis@Model Express since he first opened his doors. Best way to describe him is that he's the Canadian version of Hobby Heaven with better variety (foreign kits, photo etch. etc.)
  16. Norbert a.k.a. Norbie, The Can Am Garage's always helpful outside consultant calmly told Jack that those black fenders just didn't come from Ford like that and that he ought to fix that. There was lots of hemming and hawing but he did it. Then he finds out the fenders don't match the rest of the truck which, as it turns out, it quite possible according to Norbie.
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Lindberg kit come with a FORD engine?
  18. The revised graphics arrived yesterday and I've been busy working on it today. Notice the car numbers in the center of the lightbar.
  19. Thanks guys! I've been working at about those speeds too as of late Izzy so this one was a no-holds barred GetRDone ASAP! I'm a little burned out from that experience but I enjoyed it too.
  20. Dan, I hate to be the one to break the news to ya but you don't absolutely have to use primer under Tamiya Sprays. In fact, I haven't used primer under their Spray paints in years. This is an example of that. Tamiya gloss white spray over bare plastic followed by a coat of blue violet.
  21. AMT's '05 Chrysler 300C in Patriot Blue. Construction started Thursday morning and came to a conclusion about three this afternoon. There's a couple of details to take care of but I'm pretty happy with it seeing as I built it in four days.
  22. Work comes to them. They don't go to work.
  23. I have a brand new WM in town that hasn't been open two weeks yet and they've got models. Not much but given what I've been hearing I wasn't expecting any. In the two weeks the store has been open, it looks as though they've sold over half and prolly closer to 3/4's on their model stock.
  24. Engine has been painted in what I hope and pray is close to the factory correct shade of Ford engine green.
