  1. Blacks tend to be the hardest to strip. Might i suggest Polly S E(asy)L(ift)O(ff) /Polly S ELO? Works on everything. Might take time (4 or 5 days for the DC black I just finished stripping) but it works.
  2. The older (read that as more experienced) I get, the more time I spend on prepping a body.
  3. Way to go Zoli! Bob: So long as it comes with the latest high tech hardware (video camera, low-pro LEd lightbar and so forth), I'll be VERY happy. It's a shame that Revell dropped the ball on the Impala's police equipment.
  4. Sorry for taking so long in getting back. Here's where you can find Mack - If you don't mind, could you upload a copy of him to your photo host?
  5. Not me but you should be able to fix that by adjusting the resolution of your monitor down a size or two.
  6. Beautiful! I LOVE it! I'm one of the lucky few who made it through that storm without loosing electricity despite the fact that I live in an area that was affected by it. All the towns and cities around us lost power. We didn't.
  7. I'm waiting to see how you're going to replace those missing doorhandles. If it doesn't look to hard, I'll have to get one. Otherwise, Not!
  8. D'oh! Typo by me. I meant I need to build a replica of a 1:1 '82 Corvette in scale. Otherwise, the info. is right. Am I right now?
  9. Izzy, Here's your chance to correct me if I'm wrong. I want/need to build a replica of a 1:1 '83 Corvette. What do I need? The recently reissued Revell '82 Collector's Edition, the not in current production Revell '78 Indy Pace Car Replica and a glue R/M '83 Camaro for the engine If I decide to go that far, right?
  10. Great job Tim! I've got one of those Plastkit grilles stashed away somewhere. Real nice part.
  11. Matchbox offered a large scale '99 F350 4x4 with duals and a Powerstroke under the hood. Best bet to find one (and they made several variations (tow truck, fire truck and plain pickup) is eBay. SpecCast also offers a F250 (SuperCab 4x4 shortbed). Never seen one like you're looking for. Mine came off eBay. Both of these are 1/24 or 1/25. No 2nd gen Focus that I'm aware of regardless of scale or material.
  12. Typically, it means lacquer based paints but not always. Tamiya Sprays are lacquer and aren't typically considered "hot". Automotive lacquer sprays (Dupli Color for example) are considered "hot". Enamel and acyrlic paints are not "hot". Krylon, although technically an enamel, is considered "hot" by us modelers as you can craze plastic if you aren't careful with how heavily you put it on.
  13. Nice job on Joan's car and I do vinyl tops the same way but on muscle cars.
  14. Beautiful! I get to see the occasional 1:1 around here and I swear I'd buy one if I had the money.
  15. Unfortunately, I don't. Never felt the urge to build a vintage race car and now that Fred Cady has retired, decals to do it would be a major stumbling block.
  16. You and me both. Would have made the finishing touch for this project. Thanks!
  17. Someone just had to do this. Tamiya TS15 blue and TS16 yellow with Fred Cady decals. The engine was painted aluminium to represent a vintage Chevy racing engine.
  18. George, Maybe you can answer a question for me. What are his walls made out of?
  19. You may be right. I may have to get one of his garage kits just to see.
  20. I am currently looking for a way to do an exterior facade for my garage and I've come upon the same idea as you. I've been looking at SMBC's stuff for about two weeks now and it's interesting but if it's resin, I'd rather not. In other words, I'd be willing so long as the price is right. Plastic is a whole 'nother story. Count me in!
