  1. I don't think it really matters what type of paint you use Dan. What I would do if I were you is spray a coat of white primer followed by a coat of white paint. The primer will cover the burgandy better than a straight coat of white would. Just my devalued .02c Canadian.
  2. LOVE it! Just you wait and see what Jackson has planned for his.
  3. Translated in to the other official language of Canada, it's neige. I'd like one of them "iceboxes" but they (Toyota Canada) doesn't sell them up here. I did see a grey market one last week - '06 automatic and it was burgandy - They wanted $16,795.
  4. It's called snow and believe it or not, I don't have any yet. This is more than a little weird given that I live in Canada.
  5. What you're looking for is Gunze Mr. Surfacer 1000. It goes on thin, dries very quickly and can be added to shortly.
  6. There are as many way to build a photo backdrop as there are ways to skin a cat. I'm a little short on time right now but I promise I'll show you what I've got and tell you how I accomplished it. For the moment, here's a quick pic. of my "garage".
  7. I agree. Recently discovered that colour and I flat LOVE it! Loads of uses.
  8. Testors has a bottle of what they call "rubber". Looks remarkably like tire rubber.
  9. Looks like something outta the Need For Speed games. Tres cool!
  10. Same here. Neither termites nor lizards seem to care for COLD Canadian winters.
  11. I'd seen that on Wednesday and meant to say something. Congrats!
  12. Model Express rocks! I've been doing business with Dennis since he first started advertising in the pages of Scale Auto Enthusiast. Never had anything wrong with any of my orders.
  13. Nail polish remover might work. Might take the chrome off too.
  14. Shame on you Chris for not telling Izzy abou The LEM a.k.a. The League of Extraordinary Modelers. The LEM covers just about everything from aircraft to armor to cars to ships, figures and dioramas. Both Chris and I are members there. http://www.the-lem.com You'll need to reference me when you contact the moderators to get admitted. Or at least I think that's how it works.
  15. You NEED his decals Chris. Well worth the asking price of $10 plus $1 for shipping and $1 for PayPal. I was almost finished the build when I realized that the kit decals just weren't going to cut it. Al's make it.
  16. Why do you ask such hard question? Most any truck cab will do. If you want to replicate a specific NASCAR driver's transporter, it's prolly gonna take more work. Example: I (eventually) plan to build a replica of the #5 Kellogg's Terry Labonte transporter. Based on the reference pic. I have of his transporter, I needed two different Italeri Peterbilt truck cabs. One for the truck. The other for the sleeper. Trailer - Well....there's no kit that even close to a Featherlite 53' spread axle NASCAR trailer so that means scratchbuilding and kitbashing. A couple of years back, there was a fellow from the Randy Ayer's NASCAR board who was offering the basic trailer as a craftsmans style it. He supplied the big (no HUGE) sheets of styrene. You supply and do the rest. This is one of those "Build it before I die" projects. Someday...just not today. If, on the the other hand, you'd be happy with something smaller (like a Dually pickup and trailer) there are more options. Any of the Dually pickups from the '90's would work just fine to pull a Galaxie trailer. Been there. Done that. Got a '90's Chevy Extended Cab dually pulling one of the small Galaxie tag along trailers with a then current WC MC built to replicate a NASCAR North entry.
  17. This started as one of those "what if" projects. "What if" Ponatic had decided to market a Judge package for the '04-'06 GTO. This is what it could have looked like. Polar Lights '04 GTO stripped and repainted Vedoro Green from Rainbow Products. Got a tiger in your tank? Factory stock GTO decals are from Modeler Al. You need these decals! K&S aluminium tubing for exhaust tips. Judges stripes from the Revell/Monogram '69 GTO. Red lines done following George Bojaciuk's Redline LeFever article from ages ago in the pages of SAE. Front license plate from a Fred Cady sheet (think it was his '69 Royal Bobcat sheet). More of Al's fabulous decals! Decided to pull the hood off and use the underhood decals that Al provides as part of his sheet. You can quit twisting my arm now Al.
  18. I still do the occasional bit of work with enamel. Remember the Packard Jeff? Plain old Testors gloss brown enamel on the fenders and running boards.
  19. I'm for it. Now all we need to do is convince the powers that be a.k.a Gregg and/or Jairus.
