  1. If anyone can make this thread go to 11, it is Don. Nigel Tufnell eat your heart out! Go, Don, Go!
  2. Does that suggestion on the rear panel of the cuda meet forum rules?
  3. I don't see a problem with any of the models you have pictured. Most of the better resin producers do clean up the castings before they ship, though. The styrene companies have given tacit permission to copy their stuff. I have spoken to AMT and Revell guys at different times in the past and they love it. Generally you need to buy another kit from them to complete the resin piece. I won't bore everyone yet again with tedious details about this controversy but I will give you an example of how things should operate in the resin world. Jimmy Flintstone is now selling a chopped version of my center door T. Why am I not bitching and whining about it? Because he asked for permission to produce it and I gave it. Some years back CMA sold some Ferrari 250 GT SWB models with copies of Norm Vebers Ferrari engines in it. Permission to copy was asked for and received. Perhaps if Mr. Thuene had asked for my permission to produce the P/M Vette after he found out it was mine, I would have given it. I had no intention of trying to find Tim Sandvig, who still has the master, and putting it into production again. Oh Well! :?
  4. Even lesser known, I attempted to race a 66 Chevelle at North Star Dragstrip in Minnesota in the late 70s. Ran a few 12.0 quarters but ran out of money real quick and never got back to it. 1/25th cars suit me just fine.
  5. Nice rendition, Wayne. You know your stuff!
  6. That is one tall motor! Great build! If you need some bigger slicks for that guy e-mail me. I produce some solid-resin slicks that would really look great on this car. I will give you a pair if you want them.
  7. And the coolest part of doing all that prep work is that you save at least that much time down the road because you aren't correcting a bunch of problems that occurred because of poor prep and everything just goes smoother anyway. Funny thing is I have never had any problems with yellows but then I airbrush everything!
  8. Mi spelinge are purfict!
  9. Shot the white on my AWB. Tamiya Pure White decanted and airbrushed.
  10. Bummer! I dug Zeb's jive.
  11. More ORIGINAL masters in progress Center door T Funny/Altered? 59 Cad Convertible FC Bla Bla Bla! 8)
  12. By the way, I am quite proud of my preceding TWO posts. They are possibly my finest and most incisive commentary on the subject yet! 8) 8) 8)
  13. To pre-empt comments on my preceding post I will say this, 'Juvenile? possibly. Infantile?, certainly. Appropriate?, absolutely!"   Thanks for reading.

  15. I can see it slowly coming together. 8) At first the colors were jarring but now that more details are being put in place it's coming together. It's funny how some projects don't look right until they are done and then they are awesome.
  16. I am impressed with your detail work. It is very cleanly done and the car has a great "Look" too.
  17. Cool! Great conversion.
  18. I didn't want to clog up the forum with a bunch of tedious BS! You asked for it and here it is. I am certain some will not be convinced so spare me the boredom of the expected. No one can convince me that a body this radical just happened to be that similar. The panel lines are the same, the shape is the same, the wheelie bracket notches are in the same place. the bumps in the rear fender for tire clearance. If changing the nose and cutting the wing supports down is all it takes to call it your own then so be it. It is a copy. Period. End of story. Slam Dunk. Whatever. By the way, I think mine looks better.
  19. Darin, With due respect, Enough with this proof, tooling marks, etc. noise. Molds made from the same master will have different part lines, vent and sprue stubs, and other "tooling marks". The proof is in the size, shape, details, panel lines. etc. By continuing to say that we are whiners and that by us not personally sending you "proof"of the 3D plagiarism you are insulting at least 4 people who I have known for over 20 years each in this resin business. These are honest, hardworking people with very good reputations who haven't had cause to complain about other people stealing their work without permission because it hasn't happened until this person started doing it. I am certain you can cite some instance or another where Joe Blow copied Billy Bob's 58 Whatzit but no-one has done it in such a widespread manner and insisted so vehemently that it is his work and then admit out of the side of his mouth otherwise or contradicts himself in e-mails about the provenance of "his" work. If he was smart he would drop all of the stuff in his catalog that he copied from other resin casters. I thought this issue was settling down but now Mr. Thuene and yourself have raised it up again! It won't serve him well to do this. He is not an effective or compelling communicater. If you can send me your e-mail address I will send you a series of images that I think will be fairly convincing. That is if you are open-minded about conclusions drawn. Darin, I mean no offense to you and wish the best. Peace.
  20. Dang! I have to join this Straight-Line Modelers group. Sounds like a bunch of righteous dudes! 8)
  21. Interesting! I used some Dupont thinner in my decanted Shimrins Candy tangerine and it sprayed real nice. It ended up flat but I always clear my paint with some PPG clear and that went on fine and polished well. I will likely switch to PPG thinner when my Dupont runs out.
  22. Charlie, That is the 71 RR that Wayne was referring to in the post just before yours. It has to be the least known Sox & Martin car. There was an article on the car which I, of course, lost but am still searching for. I think it was in one of the east coast mags and I think that car ran in Modified Production. Thanks for offering up your Fotki album. I did grab a couple of pics.
  23. It looks sorta like an Italian Prowler! But not anywhere near as Cheezy!
  24. They would be 1.5" O.D., .600 I.D. and .850 wide. The fronts are about 1/8th narrower. PM your address to me and I will send you however many you need for your project. I am doing them for my Web-guy Clint and I just pour extra resin in the mold here and there.
  25. Fun Stuff! 8)
