  1. My two cents, also! I detest wide whites put on anything older. Some classics had them but most didn't and they do look better without them.
  2. You will find that those wheels will not fit once you put in the suspension, brakes, etc. Typcal front drive cars can not run wheels offset like that unless you want to go really wide! Soem Mini racers run the wheels ouside of the body lines and have monstous flares to cover them.
  3. Everyone send their Matra kits to Patrick so he can build more! Cool series of builds, Patrick!
  4. Gravity! It is only a theory, however.
  5. The Tan one is the 1936 Ford. Red one is a 40 Ford sedan. Light Blue is 32 Ford roadster. Dark Blue is 63 Corvette.
  6. Those are just disc covers over the wire wheels.
  7. They are all AMT kits and all of them have been re-issued, some many times. The 36 Ford was just re-issued a few months ago! The 40 Ford sedan hasn't been seen in a while. That may have some value. There is little cash value in most of them. If you have fond memories of your dad and uncle you could fix them up a bit and keep them.
  8. I have seen it before but can't remember exactly where. It looks to be partly inspired by the Phantom Corsair with maybe a gull wing Mercedes greenhouse attached. It is very cool regardless.
  9. Nice work and a cool model. I hate to tell you this but your quick change differential is upside down. You will have to put the car in reverse to go forward!!
  10. And Skoda is part owned by VW!
  11. Now if only it had titanium swivels and base...........
  12. There were only three Atlantics built. I would hope owners would respect their history somewhat. In the case of the Pope/Perkins/Lauren Atlantic, it was painted blue for most of its life with blue painted wires. Perkins added the plated wires. Lauren had it restored to it's spec as delivered to the first owner. Sure, it's authentic but it ignores most of its history.
  13. AARRRRGH! MY EYES!!!
  14. The reality shows are anything but! So much staged BS. I would pitch all the "home entermainment" equipment in my house in the river but my wife can't live without it.
  15. It is not a contest unless you consider people's egos. It is an NNL. They have a handful of popular vote awards. It is a good time. There are a bunch of people on this forum who attend. We would like to meet you in person. Please consider it.
  16. Peers used to laugh at me when I was younger when I was watching what I ate. I always tried to keep it reasonably healthy and not go nuts on grease and sugar. At 57 I weigh 165 pounds at 5' 9". A few years ago I took up cycling and am averaging about 3000 miles a year. I feel great mentally and physically and feel like a kid on my bike. Of course we all lose ourselves when we are at the model workbench and forget our worries and get all zen-like. I guess that engaging in kid's activities all my life has made me stay and feel young. This spring I will have been married for 23 years. We didn't have kids and that keeps us younger, too. I hear that having kids ages you!!!
  17. I am reading this at work while my HAAS mill is running. He's got the dough!!
  18. I would add myself to the list of Ferrari 156 Shark Nose aficianados. I love the Tyrell six wheelers too. If you had asked for favorite GP cars I would, of course had to go with my Bugattis: Brescia, T35, T59.
  19. I am really enjoying watching this build, Harry. You should come to the Milwaukee NNL April 12th and play with the rest of the kids!!!
  20. Very cool model. That was a pretty advanced truck design for 1907.
  21. The design of the hood is the same and has similar front suspension, lights, etc. The big difference was wire wheels. Google 1902 panhard levassor and you will see what I mean. Actually the early years of the automobile were wild and wooly! Very few cars resembled each other until maybe 1910 or so when the shape and layout of cars converged. Looking forward to the next challenge.
  22. Two more for the stash!
  23. Standards vary as much as opinions.
  24. He must have copied the Panhard-Levassor from France. It is a twin to it!
  25. Neither is wrong. It is just that one point of view produces nice built models and the other doesn't.
