  1. Chassis and body are finally mated! Now on to the details.
  2. Getting the parts in the last post was a needed step, now I will need to make a mounting surface for the light(s). Just a lot going on recently.
  3. Some paint from the hobby shop, plus this came today..
  4. Thanks, I see a couple shadows, I'll have to look closer at that. The engine bay is almost ready, tried some new paints.....well, we know how that goes! Thanks for following!
  5. Went to HL, no '71 Olds kits in sight. Airbrush units are on sale though. Bought these as donors for future builds of resin bodies. I have been looking at all my resin kits/bodies for a while, finding which kits are needed so I can find them "cheap" as I go to shows and such.
  6. I know Fireball Motorworks makes them. Not sure who else may.
  7. Alright. I had to also re-bend some exhaust tubing that hit the floorboard, now I have to order some paint to match.....! Decided to go back to the original style grill. I stripped the kit chrome and refinished with the airbrush.
  8. Alright....fine! But I DO have plans for organizing this mess..... really, I do! Multiple projects going on....(as you can see).
  9. New lights and speed control for my paint booth build.
  10. The LED lights and speed control came today! Lights are pretty bright, just doesn't take a good pic on my phone anytime LEDs are involved.
  11. The clear parts are 'frosty', I'll try to polish them at some point. They are from eBay...
  12. These Audis came today. First ordered in May, but USPS lost them....had to be refunded and reordered them.
  13. Realized/ forgot I needed to modify the fenderwells to fit around the headers and make room for the steering shaft. Also, found a miscalculation of the motor placement....so now I'm moving that back, with minimal degredation to the surrounding areas.
  14. Came from across the pond.... didn't realize these boxes were so big,(comparable to a semi box) ,lots of parts!
  15. Some pre painting of the Luv... Second pix is the paint scheme I'm planning... attempting.
  16. FINALLY got the engine bay mold made and 1st casting! Now I can start... finishing the Suburban!
  17. What exactly is that? No matter what paint you used, thinner will react with it.... To some degree! If that's paint from the roof, if krylon is sandable, wet sanding with a flat block is a start. Then blend the trunk. IMO
  18. Looking for an AMT 74 Vega Wagon Body for a project. Thanks in advance!
  19. Went to see my friend Ron at RMR. Spent a couple days learning more about making molds and casting. Which means I finally got around to making a mold for the Suburban engine bay!! Also went shopping and made some stuff while there....LOTS of 64 C-10 parts and kits now, other parts/kits.
  20. Again, project while finishing the paint booth. This is my first version of this idea, I will have a couple more in the future as donors are acquired. Anyway, I'm making this wagon by combining a Beetle front clip and a Ford panel rear section. The Ford kit leaves much to be desired. Here's my progress so far. I had to move everything back in the front. Motor, suspension, cross member....moved some of the frame supports, and opened the side panels.
  21. While slowly working on my paint booth, I may have started a few more projects. Several of the waiting projects need the paint booth to finish them, so ya know, why not start more projects!! One other I will post after this. This started as a semi built kit, with mods. I decided to continue with the retro theme. The frame was mostly done, I cleaned it up a bit and repainted everything. Stripped the body and did some detail body work. I made a new roll bar(since factory one doesn't fit), some pipe bumpers, and detailed the motor a bit. Fabricated an inner skin for the tailgate , everything now in primer. The paint scheme will resemble my brothers truck he bought new in '81, black with tri colored stripes of orange - yellowish.
  22. I tried a quick experiment on some old school fog lights. This was brushed on, over white. Quite happy with the finish, but I just did a light rub test for durability after a few days, and it does come off, without the clear.
