  1. Cut out the base skeleton (not shown after excess removed) .... silicone and clamped it in place, cut the exhaust hole, and made channels for the filter.
  2. Thanks, blessed with abilities in many areas. I've learned much from combining genres ...ie; woodworking, metal working, painting, etc. The metal is a little heavier than it needs to be, but it was free!! And to imagine, costing way less to make than many brand names.
  3. Yep... that's an inherited trait! LOL. Learned early on from my dad to do things right the first time, less problems later and a better product in the end.
  4. Today's advancement... back, top, and floor support.
  5. As in another thread, I mentioned I like using thin CA first. Then start sanding, and continue with primers as needed.
  6. 18"x 24"x 18"high. This is the blower unit. It has a 6" inlet and a 4" outlet.
  7. Had this general plan for a long time, I have been slowly gathering materials to start. Oddly I have had the sheet metal for about 35 years! Who says saving things doesn't pay off?! Anyway, I started forming the sheet, first the base and today the sides. And yes, it will resemble a Pace brand.
  8. The Revell River Rat has one, not sure about depth of detail it has. I acquired the kit from a friend, with the intention of casting the motor, but of course haven't done so yet.
  9. I've found the best solution (for me), when using automotive brand or other solvent based putty, is to use an automotive primer first, even just Dupli Color. I've also started using Tamiya polyester putty. Two part, but plays nice with the plastic. Sands like other putties.
  10. The difference is the Atomic guys own the original name..spelled..Jo-Han, while Okey sells under..Johan.
  11. A guy I have had the pleasure of knowing, a long with his friends have a hobby shop near Columbus Ohio....Atomic City. They sought out and purchased the name and rights to the original Jo-Han brand.
  12. Found a few treasures at Buckeye Scale Auto show in Hilliard Ohio...a hobby shop was clearing inventory, resins were $10 each, C-10, mustang, and dodge L700 were half off. Box of 1/20 scale parts, LRW kit and new shirt!
  13. Thank you, I used an old can of testors enamel, which takes a 'minute' to dry. Sprinkled from a salt shaker or you can use a tea strainer.
  14. I guess there's two threads for contests, I posted in the other one as well. Yes, I'll be there selling my wares!! (Probably buying someone else's also)
  15. Here's a couple more....the roll bar detail in Bumblebee, especially since there's a set of louvers on the rear window. The Shooting Brake Camaro....I made a rear package area with carpet, never to be seen through the narrow rear window.
  16. I'll be set up here, thinning out the stash, but certainly looking for more treasures! Hope to see you there!
  17. Got these this week. 69 Camaro widebody kit and a 2015 Mustang snap kit for parts or replication, to fit the Flintstone van.
  18. The idea/concept of the gasser, which typically has a higher front end, is that it "preloads" the rear suspension . Also, with the front end higher than the rear, I believe would make the spoiler virtually useless. I'm sure there are more technical answers, of some I'm sure will be brought forth for you. My two cents...
  19. I believe the Futura came with a man and a woman. But, I'd think there's some 3d printed ones out there. Also these...
  20. I thought I had some, but then again....I thought! Good luck.
  21. Do you still need the winch and guard plate?
  22. Another part for the spray booth, next building the enclosure.
