  1. A club member picked my order of three Coca Cola C-10 PUs from the PA show this past weekend for me. After I got them yesterday, I then watched the online video of one being built......THEY ARE MOLDED IN RED!! After all these years, and complaints from so many modelers, they still use red!?
  2. Actually...if you follow him on eBay,he lists items every 1-2 months. As far as Facebook, I believe he has his items listed to purchase, sometimes he has ordering "windows" for a few weeks at a time. He flat out tells you he has a busy work life, shipping can be a little slow, but not at all compared to some others I've ordered from. I know I have at least six of his items, and they are all top notch!!
  3. The Rebel came from Robert Burns, aka. Modelerrob( eBay), Too Many Projects(FaceBook)
  4. Picked up the Can Am last week, got the Rebel yesterday.
  5. Picked these up at the Sharon PA show Sat. It was great to see everyone again. We didn't get to set up early, venue caretaker didn't show up until an hour and half later than expected. That created a mad rush for us to set up and customers to shop at the same time.
  6. Well one of the Panteras arrived yesterday without warning. Not a great assembling kit, the parts look pretty good at quick inventory, but still a nice vintage kit. Came with a map of the race and original sales receipt from1986!
  7. Received a late notice, Sharon PA swap meet to be held at the Elks Club from 8-3. Google it, easy to find.
  8. Got this Lola last week, I also have a couple of Panteras coming, but both of them are having trouble finding the mailbox....
  9. Finally got some color on the bodies, using base coat/clear coat.
  10. These are some good ideas I also need to remember, a cool extra detail. I do know that Chief Joseph makes some truck tires that are weighted.
  11. Shot some color on the underside of the bodies and front clips last week. Finished the headlight bezels. Ugly resin ones compared to more realistic and proportionate aluminum. Happy Resurrection Sunday! Karl
  12. If you look at the box, the grills are different per year and the 66 is 4wd
  13. Overflow oil cans done! Need to locate and fit 2nd front clip, and I will finish priming. Finally, not quite, but almost ready for some paint!
  14. Yes, back side of the tires are not finished. He must use an open backed mold.
  15. I used the Pennzoil decals from this kit back in the beginning of 2019 on the Flintstone Flyer build. Dug out the box to use the others for the last two builds and the decals are extremely delicate. Tore one or two while dry on the backing paper, let alone after I soaked them for application. Is this a problem for all current AMT decals, or something pertaining to this or certain kits? Karl
  16. Engines are 99% , I found my source of decals for the overflow oil cans, so now I can finish those. I used the same line for gas as before, if I find more, I will stock up! This is an old phone line from my house, it has a solid core wire. Simply pull the wire, and it slips beautifully over a .021 straight pin with no glue!
  17. I have used this on the Flintstone Flyers, it doesn't do bad. You must be careful, even coat(s) are a MUST, as it is translucent. Takes awhile to dry, and make SURE there is no dust or debris, it will show. Material stays on top like paint, doesn't soak in like a dye.
  18. That depends on the connection style used per kit. Metal axel, shaft on back of wheel hub, protrusion on axel that slips into hub... With say metal axel, you can use round stock or tubing cut to simulate a ..hub..and glue on back of wheel center, drill if necessary. I have (because I am blessed to have a lathe) turn out disc brake rotors with a stub to shove into the axel housing. With protrusions on the axel, you can also kit bash to find wheel backs to fit the axel, and make adjustments as needed. Here's one example..
  19. There's also these, metal cutting blade available or may come with some. The harbor freight one does. I have used mine even for brass for the slot car chassis.
  20. I might suggest also covering the surrounding area, but use the same method of spraying to achieve similar/same consistency of metallic. Light coats, build it up.
  21. A little progress, lots of work... Turned brake rotors and made calipers. A partial mock up...
  22. Ok, more backpedaling. While fitting the second front clip, realized some how the axel was too far forward. Refitted the whole front axel and repainted the entire chassis to look uniform. Finished one intake so far.
  23. With all due respect, I don't look at this as a ... score.
  24. My nephew's father passed away early in January. While cleaning out the house, he found these kits and gave them to me. Thankful for the gift, it makes it special when they are from someone you know.
