  1. An update, these are in process parts I've been working on. I finally received the LS Intake from Clearly Scale, and fabricated an air duct and some coil pack covers. The grills pictured are of course stock, then the C1 version, and my replication. The C1 grill is short and looks like window screen. I'm using the custom grills from the AMT 64 Impala to make it like the 1:1. I plan to cut out the stock grill, and fill with my version
  2. I wondering if anyone has ordered from this person. I asked some questions prior to an order, and he mostly answered them. But now that I ordered,(1/25/22), I've heard nothing. Sent an email about a week ago. Thanks, Karl
  3. Also with using that miter box and the xacto saws, if you hold the material on 'your' side of the box, draw the saw towards you, if held on opposite side, push saw away from you. This forces the material against the wall of the box.
  4. Number 3 is officially done!!!! Thanks all for watching, commenting, and the compliments!!
  5. Almost!! I cleared the front clip last week and polished it tonight.
  6. I have experimented with several variations of finish. I started with flat black or black primer, gloss clear, then a satin or matte finish. They come out nice, but the semi gloss would be one step, not three. But I have one shot with the decals, so I want to do it right. So I welcome experience!
  7. I am planning on using MCW semi gloss black lacquer as a body finish. Will decals stick without clear coat? Thanks, Karl
  8. The wheel sets on the top are from Jays wheels , the others are(obviously) from Off The Sprue
  9. That sounds like a really good idea!
  10. The wheels did come out nice, but I guess I never posted a pic of them. I recasted them because of issues with the stud heads missing or braking easily. I finally discovered a way to replace the studs/bolts.
  11. Wheels and tires done! Playing with options for body paint.
  12. Decals applied, body on chassis. Last is to repaint and finish front clip. Weather is being an issue right now.
  13. Those are certainly nice, but too expensive for wheel sets
  14. Do a search for 3d resin wheels
  15. Fireball Modelworks, Scenes Unlimited, I just received some from this guy on ebay...jayswheelsandties1948 and they are top notch also.
  16. Picked this pile up at Sharon, PA show. Always a good time buying and selling there! Another cheap Nova kit for the chassis, Batmobile is started, but was $10, the Rambler ambulance was a good buy as well. Of course, some more RMR resin!! Ramp trucks are because I want white bodies, not red ones(Coke version), not pictured, but a chassis from a 75 Nova for $2.
  17. He shut down temporarily to catch up, and as it states... he was involved in an accident on New Years eve.
  18. This was posted even back in 2019 as a problem. Did a Google search, it brings up the forum thread about it. modelhaustires@gmail.com
  19. Interior is done, made some shocks, reworking wheels, investigating color application.
  20. Foil and taillights finished. Next is glass install, then body to chassis. Finally concentrate on front clip.
  21. Body is now painted, cleared, and polished. Front clip still in process.
  22. Just email him to make a request/order
  23. Ron at RMR has a good selection of trucks and COEs. Check his site and email with request.
  24. Decided to give him an "Optimus" battery, built from scratch.
  25. No..no.. I've been there! Just keep watching the guys on here and experiment, learn, have fun with it. I'm still trying to improve my finish painting skills...now that can be frustrating! Thanks for the compliments, it's been going well this time around.
