  1. Yeah I agree With denatured alcohol if you even look at a model With a can of it in your hand it will peel the paint right off LOL
  2. how long has it been painted? I've noticed the longer the paints been on the part the longer it takes. I've always had better luck with brake fluid but it all comes down to personal preference
  3. Art sorry I didn't have a better answer let me try and find a picture of your headliner and maybe we can put our heads together and figure something out
  4. What I did on a 50 chevy p/u and it was a pain in the rump but I used putty to form the hills and valleys you discibe and sanded them down til they looked correct then I used tissue paper and glue and over laid that on the putty. I then used wires for the bows. Thankfully the p/u only needed a couple bows. Sadly I lost all pics and the model in a house fire about six years ago. I vowed never to do it again but it was praised by my model club. That was how I did it but i'm sure someone has a better and easier way
  5. I would go buy a sheet of thin evergreen I think the thickness of mine is .02 lot of folks would probably use .01 for the dash but it's a bit thin for my liking and just play with it and the dash till you find something you like. Now any 1/25 chevy engine should work with little mods. I'd suggest maybe going to the wanted section and seeing if anbody has the parts your missing. As for aftermarket resin there are a ton of options. As for exhaust I would use acid free flux core solder very easy to bend in the shape you wish and you can drill out the core for pinning and realistic exhaust tips. If you have any futher question or need a better explaination of something feel free to pm me
  6. I don't know all the ins and outs of decal application but one thing that really helped me was to moisten the body where you plan to apply it that way it gives you a little more time to position it. Then I take a piece of plastic or something I can use as a squegee. I start from the center and work my way outward. Just be very gentle
  7. I was wondering what are some of the tricks ya'll use to replicate mirror glass. On earlier models i have just painted the mirror surface with silver enamel. I was kicking around the idea of trying to BMF. Let me know how you tackle your mirrors Thanks Dave
