Ya sadly finding this was to late to help me when I wanted to cut up my 50 chevy P-U which is hopelessly junk now. Maybe i'll make it a one off convertible lol
I hope this url works because it has really helped me with the chopping of the top I'm doing on my 40 ford p-u http://books.google.com/books?id=R9IX5pOGErMC&pg=PA21&lpg=PA21&ots=8XDzLWcte7&dq=how+to+chop+a+top+on+a+model+car&output=html_text
Ok after applying BMF everyone knows that there just isn't enough contact to always keep it in place. I was wondering if clearcoating bmf areas afterwards would help like it does with decals on keeping them from getting damaged
Truth be told my revell models and monogram have always been kits that fit well and I don't have to fiddle near as much with where as some AMT kit take a little fiddling but end up much nicer. Word to the wise never buy a amt 1957 corvette gasser flipnose what your dealing with on the nova would be childs play compared to the vette my suggestion is take a lil break and then take another look at it and good luck
Cool build and I think it would look totally cool if you decided to put colored acitate for the areas you cut out on the roof. I see yellow that way it would look like the sun coming up behind the building. Just an idea. This is so killer! Your creativity amazes me
I feel like a total nitwit as soon as you said I had it backwards everything fell in place! Duh! So to find the each ratio you multipy it by the gears in play
Thank you long box55
I've been trying to learn how one works and after reading many articles I'm still confused. the way I read it.
1. Green light
2. Release the clutch (only time you do so)
3. Pull back levers as needed without the clutch.
http://www.lencoracing.com/HowaLENCOworksandRATIOSmaster.html this was the article that was most helpful.
Now I read on one site that it doesn't matter which order you pull the levers. ???
I do understand the whole sun gear with the plantary gears part but I don't understand much after that. So from what I read Each case is two speeds a direct drive and an underdrive. Here is where I get confused. Correct me if this is wrong. You start out in direct then pull lever on first case and you have an underdrive then next case is back to direct? Can anybody explain this so this monkey can understand it?
I've been working on a 71 duster and I was thinking this is going to be my best model ever! Well as soon as that thought hit my brain it went done hill from there. Now the more I try to make it look better the worse it is getting. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Problem are cropping up everywhere and in my opinion I'm to far along to want to start over.
Maybe two tips I don't know.
When you know what you need to bmf. While it's still on the paper backing I have found laying it up againist the car press it into the detail you wish to bmf and that will give you the rough demension of what you need. Then cut it out with a lil extra as a safety margin and off you go. Once you have trimed the extra quickly place back on the backing paper to use somewhere else.
I read that a lot of guys use epoxy for glue. I went to the hardware store and was overwhelmed by the choices. Two part epoxy, epoxy resin epoxy adhesive, quick set and on and on and on. which type do you use?
