  1. Thanks Joe. Thanks Chris.
  2. The frame came out looking great, can't wait to see it with all the suspension and motor. What motor are you using? I am putting a corvette motor in my 69 camaro.
  3. Haha....good point. There's not enough time for modeling when your trying to build an empire.
  4. Get well soon Barry. Take care of yourself and hurry back to the workbench
  5. That was well worth it, that paint came out beautiful. Nice work
  6. I'd have to agree with everyone else, those red steelies deffinatly make a difference. I do like the chrome ones I just think the red ones look better.
  7. James, you do some of the nicest detailed stuff, even if it can't be seen right away. I was thinking of carving a skull head but I deffinatly have to try one of your cool shifters from your tutorials.
  8. By the looks of the glasses sitting on the work bench, I'd say that's Walt's workbench, not Byans.
  9. Soooo is it safe to say its most likely the caddy 335ci....lol? Sorry man I get a little lost with the motor info, I'm still trying to teach myself but the numbers get more mixed up in my head then eggs get scrabbled...haha. Thanks for the help Will.
  10. Yea, I would have to agree, it's the cleanest way to get that body scrapping. I wouldn't mind seeing some photos of your old bagged truck. I had a few bagged trucks myself, 2 blazers (83'-85')' and a 92' Chevy ext cab long bed. I was going to suggest flocking like the others. You could probably do the seats with it or maybe just use some old cloths for cloth to use.
  11. I cut the middle pillar out to give it a longer look. I like the lines around the window, so I scribed new ones to keep the flow, then I shaved the top of the old door lines and the hole for the mirror. Had to continue the line so the door could open so this is what I came up with. I'm pretty happy with it. I might put the mirror here slopping down. I use the lamp sometimes to help me scribe, thought this was a cool shot. Gives you more of an idea what it looks like.
  12. Then I moved to the hood lines. My plan was to use the all smooth hood but on my first attempt I cut the new lines downward instead of sideways which gave me huge ugly gapped lines so I had to go with the louvered hood. I guess its a good thing they give you a spare hood. (If anyone knows how to shave the louvers off without leaving indents behind lmk, thanks) I made the corners more straight edged to match the line of the trunk opening. I also shaved the front marker light holes, bumper holes, and the middle grill holes. Then I had notched the front for the new bumper.
  13. Some of the lines were really bothering me so I scribed in new trunk lines to match the rear window. Still unsure if I'll open it up or not.
  14. What's one to do when they are in a jam with their other two builds.....start another of course. After seeing everyone building up some really cool mercs I thought I would finally take mine out of the box and give it a go. I'm going with the Revell 49' Mercury Coupe, nothing to crazy, just simple clean mods, slammed, and a wild set of flames. Just your typical run of the mill hotrod. I started by just laying down a couple sets of different sized flames to get an idea how I want it to look before I start the work.
  15. I love how you did the dashboard, makes it flow so nicely through the interior. I also really like the way you made that intake flow right over the inner fenders. It'd be sweet to run the nose right over the top of that motor down the middle. All in all it's really coming together, can't wait to see it all finished.
  16. Oooohhhhh yeeaaaaaa, that's the stuff!
  17. Not to try and change the subject of the thread but could anyone tell me what type of caddy motor they put in the revell 49 merc kit? Any help would be appreciated
  18. I wasn't sure what was going on there at first but that actually came together pretty nicely. I love the looks of it, could have some really nice lines. hope you keep this going.
  19. I went back and found em, not sure howi missed it. they are going to look good with everything going on with the rear. Can't wait to see them with the vette roll pan and the exhaust.
  20. I too am a fan of this movie, I'll be watching.
  21. Really liking what you did there with the roll pan. I may have missed this in an early post but what tail lights are you using?
  22. Nice, I just got done making my first notches for my 49 merc frame last night, I'll have to get some photos up. You doing a stock floor body drop with that one off frame? Feel free to post up as many pics of your projects as you want, we love photos here.
  23. Great lookin truck, love the whole set up with the trailer and car. Also some really cool details with the stuff in the bed. Impressive how you get those little details in there and real nice touch with that stay rod. I would love to see some up close photos of all your little detailed stuff.
  24. Been a fan of the Digger since I was a kid. Nice job on the truck, looks killer.
  25. Like what you did with the cab, can't wait to see this thing tuckin some rim. Nice work, keep it going.
