  1. The kit that you have is a 64 Dodge 330 Sedan. This is a 64 Plymouth Sport Fury. Different kits. This one will be a welcome addition to the collection though.
  2. Here is a Kevin Harvick 2006 Monte Carlo Nationwide series car from that year. It is an out of the box build using aftermarket decals.
  3. Whoo Hoo! Got mine today and only seven days after this post started. Awesome job Greg, and staff. It's always worth the wait.
  4. "That ###### can of Fix-A-Flat! The label never said do not take orally"
  5. Looks really good. Excellent detail.
  6. Excellent build. And what Rob says is right. Use spray paint as much as possible over brush painting, if you can. Otherwise the other types of paints mentioned earlier are also a plus, especially Testors metalizers paints for painting engine components and such. Can't wait to see what you come out with next.
  7. Good looking builds on both of them, despite the problems you had with the Mongoose decals. The Slixx decals are sure to be top notch but don't hold your breath on Prudhomme decals. He is almost as bad as Force when it comes to licensing and worse yet his wife holds the power of what gets done and what does not. If the repro decals are that bad (and I have both sets that I haven't tried yet) then you could re-do the Prudhomme car by masking and painting the blue and using some of the typical decals from the soon to be released Slixx Mongoose set that will work for both cars and the rest from the repro set.
  8. Awesome job, David. Anytime you can go on a tour of the shop led by the man himself that's saying something. The build came out great and I'm sure that you sincerely touched him with your skills.
  9. Just wanted to let everyone know how good Golden Bell Press is at customer service. I subscribe to Model Cars and I never received the most recent issue (#139) so after giving it basically a month to arrive I went ahead and called Golden Bell and a very nice lady took my call and after I explained the issue she informed me that another copy was going out in the mail that day. No hassles and I was on and off the phone in less than five minutes. That's great customer service.
  10. Excellent build Mick. All of the little extra details look awesome.
  11. And yet another flawless build.
  12. David, your Nascar builds always look awesome. Great job!
  13. Excellent work Dave. I'm sure that Garlits will be quite impressed with your work. And that you do such a nice job in such a short amount of time. Well done!
  14. Here is a link to my photo album of pictures taken at the 2009 Jaxcon IPMS show held Saturday in Jacksonville. 137 automotive subjects in an IPMS show. That is pretty good. Check it out! Automotive pictures are first in the album. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/model_shows/jaxcon-2009/
  15. I did my part by purchasing the only Mopar hood he had listed. I'm strongly considering going back for the Pontiac Ventura conversion kit. Good stuff.
  16. Longtime model builder Bob Robinson, member of the SABA group out of Portland, OR built this rendition of the "Duel" truck a couple of years back. Just thought you might lke to see someone elses attempt at replicating it.
  17. I build planes as well as automotive subjects. Mianly WWII pieces with a few jet subjects mixed in. Nothing competition worthy but I like what I do simply to place on the shelf. I love the historical value of them. Here's a few pics.. F4F Corsair photo recon night fighter / Korean war P-40F, 325th fighter squadron, Pacific theater, WWII P-40, Aleutian Tigers, Kiska Alaska, WWII, my father-in-law was part of the ground crew that serviced these planes in 1942.
  18. Here you go. http://sabanw.proboards.com/
  19. Dave the new web site is great. Now you need to tell Fletch to add a link to the club forum he created so other people can find their way there as well. Right now it's only Dave and myself there.
  20. Shane the progress is looking superb. The interior tin work is excellent as is the rest of the detail so far.
  21. Here are completed pics. of my latest build. It is an AMT 71 Duster combined with a Revell Olds. pro stock chassis and a Ross Gibson resin B-1 motor. It is a phantom paint scheme with all of the regular engine and interior detailing. The wheels are resin cast items and the wheelie bars were scratchbuilt out of aluminum tubing. The decals are a mixture of Slixx and JWTBM decals. I am also including a link to the build album for anyone that might want to go back and look at the buildup progress. If you do you will see a different paint scheme early on in the build that had to be changed after the decals had a bad reaction form the clear coat. Thanks for looking. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/project-...ster-quick-8-t/
  22. Paint job looks great. This is a cool looking build that is coming along nicely.
  23. Here are a few more updated pics. The chassis has been painted and the front and rear suspensions are in place along with the tires and wheels. Still plenty of underside detail to add but the basic work is done. And I was also able to get the hood hinged and working. More to come!
  24. Oh, and I guess I have given away what the main color of the van will be.
  25. Now for the next update. The chassis was next and what I did was to sub frame the front of the chassis from the transmission crossmember forward. I cut away the kit chassis and added the front chassis from an AMT 71 Duster. As well, the rear suspension has also been used from the AMT Duster kit. I am using brake rotor and calipers from an Aoshima wheel kit. The four leaf spring shackle attachments have been upgraded with Grandt line bolt head details. The chassis has been painted with Testors Pearl Purple and the rear suspension has been added. Next will be to add the paint detail for the front suspension.
