  1. Really nice build, Billy. Keep em coming.
  2. Chris, email me at waynes4880@aol.com I have exactly what you are looking for.
  3. Excellent build. Good job.
  4. Welcome to the forum. I tried the link for your web site and all it gives is a pic. of the dragster. Nice slot car but I would love information on how to get one. Also, you might want to think about putting your full name in your profile to show up on the bottom of each post. It is a forum rule.
  5. Very nice combination. I really like the color scheme.
  6. The decals came from Just Want To Build a Model (JWTBM). you can probably find them easier at www.smh.com or www.mikesdecals.com
  7. Sweet ride, Bill. That came out beautifully.
  8. Here are the fianl pics. of my latest completed build. It is a 2003 Jimmie Johnson Lowe's Spongebob Monte Carlo with a one-race paint scheme that was run at the July race in Daytona during the 2003 season. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. It may look like an expensive model with lots of aftermarket parts added but I actually try to do this on a budget and find materials to detail with in obscure places such as craft stores, discount stores or even dismantling old electronics devices. I also need to thank David Thibadeau and Clay Kemp for inspiring me to take on this challenge. Their builds are what drove and guided me to get this completed. Anyway, thanks for looking.
  9. Hey guys, here is a link to picas. from this weekends NSRA Southeast Street Rod Nationals held in Tampa, FL. There were over 1600 cars in attendance. Unfortunately, between the time spent at the model contest and the heat outside (and the overall area that the cars were spread out to) I was only able to photograph about 140 of them. Lots of cool cars though. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/car_show...nsra-southeast/
  10. Awesome work, again, David. Can't wait to see it in person this weekend.
  11. Unfortunately errors from the model companies don't hold the same results as say an error on a baseball card. Yes Revell did let some of the errors get released to the public before they recognized the mistake and fixed it. But, it carries about the same extra value from the corrected version as does the Lindberg Color Me Gone 64 Dodge Super Stock that was first released with the words "Super Sport" on the box instead of "Super Stock". And that would be, not much. But then again, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. And as such, I am holding on to one each of the above mentioned sealed models, just in case.
  12. Well, here are the completed pics. of a special project. This is a build of a 52 Chevy two door sedan for a co-worker. The wife of this co worker has an uncle that is dying of cancer and back in the day he owned and drove a 52 Chevy. So, they asked me to duplicate his car, to the best of my ability, so that it could be presented to him while he is still with us. It is not a completely accurate 52 Chevy but close enough to please a dying man. I combined a 51 Fleetline with a 51 Bel Air and basically went from there. The final details replicate what the car looked like back in the 50's right down to the vanity plate that was created from the Acme license plate web site and reduced in photoshop. The Olds. Starfire hubcaps are items that I cast in resin and then some simple detailing under the hood. He always carried a guitar so one was created for the front seat and there were two checkered flag pillows in the back window. Thanks for looking.
  13. Welcome aboard, Gasserman. The more Darg folks the merrier. Good looking builds.
  14. Very nice restoration piece.
  15. Billy, here are some other useful diagrams.
  16. The vending machine is cool but the Merc is awesome. The paint is superb.
  17. The inline six is straight out of the AMT 51 Fleetline kit.
  18. Here are some new updates. I have been able to get the new molding added around the beltline as well as the new drip rail along the roof sides. Then it was time to prep the body for painting and getting the chassis and engine assembled and in the car. The hubcaps on the front are Oldsmobile Starfire hubcaps that I had to cast in resin because I only had one to work with. These were on the real car. This build should be completed within the next few days.
  19. Very nice buildup. I've been waiting for someone to do a really nice build on one of the older pro stock Colts. I have four resin bodies myself to be worked on sometime in the near future. Yours is coming out great.
  20. Well, I had to shelve a couple of current projects for something new. A co-worker of mine, that I have built for in the past, made a request for a new build for his wife's uncle, who is dying of cancer. Apparently her uncle used to own and drive a 52 Chevy back in the day and she wanted a build of his car to present to him while he is still with us. So, what I started with was two bodies from AMT. A 51 Fleetline and a 51 Bel Air. I needed the body lines, rear roof line and trunk area from the Bel Air along with the front roof and door areas from the Fleetline to produce a 52 Chevy two door sedan body. From the pictures you will see how I cut the roof and door area above the beltline from the Fleetline and did the same to the Bel Air to then add the piece from the Fleetline to the Bel Air body. Extensive filler was required to the rear roof line to create the correct angle of the 52 Sedan roof. After all of the body filler was added and sanding was done to shape the roofline then I was able to draw in the new rear window and then cut it out. That is where I am currently at. I will still need to go back and add the beltline molding around the lower window line as well as the drip rail above the window line that runs halfway down the rear quarter window. When finished it will have the appearrance of a mild street machine with rear fender skirts, steelies in the back and Lancer spinners in the front. The body work is most involved part of the process so the rest of the build shouldn't take too long.
  21. Len, the collars that you speak of are actually small gauge aluminum tubing that I cut to size and painted with Testors metalizer brass to give it that gold color. The tubing is K&S Engineering 1/16" x .014 aluminum tubing.
  22. Here is more. The engine is about complete and ready to go in. I added fuel lines, plug wires and boots and all of the oil lines to the pump. Then I went ahead and placed the engine into the chassis to make sure that everything would clear the frame rails and that everything could be wired and plumbed without any major hassles. Now I just need to finish the interior, trunk area and tie together all of the final details.
  23. My daily driver is a silver 2003 Dodge Durango. But on the weekends, when the sun is out, and there is a car show near by, it's time to take out this beast. It's a 66 Plymouth Valiant Pro Street powered by a 440. It's not a long distance cruiser. You can't carry on a converstaion driving down the road because there is no sound dampening material in the interior. And cruising in Florida, in the summertime, with no A/C is not the greatest thing either. But, all the looks that it gets, driving down the road, is worth every ounce of sweat.
  24. That is one killer street rod, Dave. I hope to see it in person come October.
  25. That's probably one of the cleanest looking stock builds I've ever seen out of that kit. Great job!
