  1. Thanks guys. I probably should have made the nozzles smaller Dave but i was running out of material to remove. This has been a really fun build. Its had over 2000 views with little comments. They all can't be builds of Jungle Jims cars LOL!!!! I should have it up on four wheels by next update...
  2. Heres a small update. I got the frame painted and cleared. The two hole fuel injectors are plumbed up and has the linkage installed. the motor is started and getting close. I have the pop off valves done for the manifold, and the valve covers have the "bumps" on them just like the real car. I got my decals today and they turned out WAY better then I had anticipated... What do ya think?
  3. x2 That's "times two" George, as in I agree. Get it LOL.... Your a good guy in my book Buddy, never forget that...
  4. Couple of things may have caused it to speck on you. Being too far away from your subject and an odd one I found when building my Pisano car. I was getting inconsistent finishes and could not figure out what was happening. The air nozzle had a small flap of dried paint that I missed (external mix) that wiggled when air was introduced but without air it laid flat being almost impossible to see. once I figured it out and removed it I started getting good finishes with alclad again...
  5. Right $22 is pretty fair for this kit now. But if you are looking for the basic dragster it is disguised as the "Hippie Hemi" that was brought out by round2 this year...
  6. depending on the size of the company and the amount of liability ins. it would take to handle this chemical in large quantities. Yes I would say this would be one of the reasons they could have closed their doors.....
  7. I too work in the chemical industry Gramps so I am knowledged in some pretty nasty chemicals out there. If tenax was made from methylene chloride that is probably the main reason it was pulled from the market. Not trying to split hairs with you here but I'm pretty sure there aren't too many glues available to us that don't have some type of ill effects both long and short term.... even the non toxic "blue tube" is flammable... Again no harm just sayin... Thanks for bringing this up though as with any solvents etc. they should be handled correctly and more importantly, with respect....
  8. Ive noticed a trend as of late, At least in the model section of eBay. A majority of sellers no longer allowing the masses to determine what an items end price should be but rather put a high (sometimes extreme) starting price or a very high "buy it now" price and foregoing reserves all together. I'm all for free enterprise so its really just and observation rather than a gripe. I'm sure Model empire made a typo so this isn't directed at them... plus it looks like he corrected the price on it...
  9. Fit issues with both kits (not as bad with the dragster). For pure nostalgia you cant go wrong with the gasser...
  10. Well Ive never seen this one. Pretty creative.. John, Could you tell me how you make your fuel line fittings...
  11. I would love to see different angles of this build. like the rear, the underside to name a couple....
  12. I as well have never had it rub off from minor handling. Could be the paint you used under it that caused it not to stick.
  13. Very Nice work Harry. Ive been wanting to build a Pocher for a really long time. This just makes me want one even more....
  14. I use a dental pick to apply super glue. The really thin super glues I use the forked applicator as suggested
  15. I notice there are pics being posted in the gallery. How do you do this. I looked through the help section but I am unable to locate the "add pic" buttons it is talking about. Is this the bug you are talking about??
  16. Oh I got that as well.
  17. Heres my Chritmas haul. My wife got me the the Ivo kits. Man does she know me or what
  18. I can log in, I can post, I can read the topics. All good on this end. Great job Gregg...
  19. Im not HAHA Be careful Dave. Looks nasty...
  20. Thanks guys Dave, I think they still make one that is similar, That pin vise along with the bench I work on as well as alot of my tools belonged to my Grandfather. He was a jeweler and when he passed away a few years ago my grandmother told me he wanted me to have all of his stuff. Sometimes I feel he's still here looking over my shoulder.. Cool guy. Miss him....
  21. OK , well after discussing the progress with the owner of the Hollish car it was determined that the chassis was a bit too long. So I cut about 1/2" out of the chassis forward of the cockpit. I've also scratchbuilt a fuel pump and a mag. Ive also added some height to the roof as More I looked at it I figured it was too "flat and wide" I hope this modification make this car more accurate to the original. Thanks for looking... I have been emailing a talking on the phone with the guy who is doing my decals. We agreed on the artwork and they being printed shortly. He wishes to stay anonymous and I don't blame him as he truly is doing this for the love of the hobby and does not wish for it to become a business. With out him this project would not have been able to be done.
  22. HOOK'EM HORNS!!!!! Nuff said.....
