Just got this in an email and thought I would post it here: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: NHRA Communications, (626) 914-4761 Artwork: Available upon request REVELL, INC. TO RELEASE MODEL KITS BEARING NHRA LOGO Kits will feature some of the most well known names in the history of drag racing, including the ‘Hawaiian’ and the ‘Chi-Town Hustler’ ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (Oct. 22, 2009) — Revell, Inc. and the NHRA announced today that Revell will be introducing nostalgic drag racing model kits in the very near future bearing the NHRA logo. Revell in the early 1970s started out as a major player in drag racing sponsorships and worked hand-in-hand with the NHRA, and introduced many Funny Cars, Top Fuel dragsters, Pro stockers, and more bearing some of the most well-known names in the history of drag racing. With the advent of the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series and the reunions, Revell will be re-releasing a number of their model kits that will be in concert with the cars that have been a force in the long history of Funny Cars, such as Roland Leong’s “Hawaiian†and the well known Chi-Town Hustler of Farkonas, Coil, & Minick. These cars will be joined by many other of Revell’s most popular drag racing model kits down the road. Revell will have a booth at some of the upcoming reunions and will display numerous drag racing model kits as well as how a model kit is first designed and tooled. Additional future drag racing releases will be announced at these shows as well. Examples of current kits such as the Stone, Woods & Cook Willys Gasser can be seen at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by Automobile Club of Southern California. “We are excited and look forward to a continued relationship with the NHRA and Revell leading the way to create interest and excitement for the drag racing enthusiast as well as the model kit builder,†said Bob Sutalski, senior vice president of product development, Revell. “NHRA welcomes the return of Revell and their classic model kits,†said Gary Darcy, senior vice president of sales and marketing, NHRA. “The Revell models were synonymous with the sport of NHRA Drag Racing and reintroducing these classic model kits to today’s fans will reinforce the long and storied history of the sport and its partnership with Revell.†About NHRA Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. Thanks Guys, Yes the seat is hand formed aluminum as well as all the interior tin work including the dog house. the rear brakes are handmade and the wheel studs have threads and will accept lug nuts, the ladder bars are made from stainless tubing. all the suspension is poseable and works. the front axle is brass and chrome plated. the engine and plumbing is accurate to the real car. like I said there are a few loose ends that need to be tidied up but for now its done. -

I appreciate all the comments guys. Ive never been published and probably never will. There are some very gifted guys on this board and their work simply astounds me and they are the ones that deserve the mag time... I try to pick up one something they have done and add it to my arsenal. The Dart isnt as nice as I want it to be. There are some paint issues as I said before that I have since resolved on some other builds and will most likely redo do the body to correct them. As far as subject matter goes, I generally pick a car that isn't of the norm and not done to death. I would love to do the 68 car as I have it on good authority from Slixx that it is in the works for a later time. Keeping fingers crossed.... Thanks again for the comments... -

Well thats it. I'm not one of the super stars here on the board so I know its not perfect. There's a few issues I want to work out on it such as some paint/decal issues that may require a repaint. and some basic cleanliness issues with glue. But for the most part it is done and off my workbench for a while anyway as of tomorrow. Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome... -
Still have a few loose ends to tie up. A couple of wires here and there and the wheelie bars, oh and the butterflies and, and.....

great looking car, I had started a ramchargers demon and used a set of decals from eBay. they were fidily at best. I wound up scrapping the idea and started over and did the Mcewen duster. It wasnt anything you did just sketchy decals ...

Its the same way here in TX. Most vettes, camaros and mustangs run without them at least here where I live. One good thing about having an old car here in TX is running antique plates. I have had several hot rods that I have ran antique plates on and have been able to get away with alot. No windshield wipers, cheater slicks, really low and loud. Ive been lucky or they just dont care.....

I dont remember saying anything negative about you advertising your site here brian so please read the above quote to make sure you FULLY understand my questions to you. I merely asked how you can start a commuity build on a subject you hate so much... Interestingly enough you are the only person I have ever had problems with in this hobby.

Please brian explain to us why in one thread you bash on Revells 32 then get kicked around for it. Then you build a 32 AND start a community build based on the same kit that revell has "crammed down your throat" as you put it. Come on brian tell us.... Seriously I want to know.... Oh Dave I believe he has already done that.
